Since the talk is about Bond anyway, it should be mentioned that some guy named Paul Mescal is now the favorite to be the next 007. I was suspecting through all the Cavill and Taylor-Johnson talk that it would be someone else.

And looks like there will also be an older actor cast to play Bond flash forward. My immediate thought was this could just Daniel Craig, and then I remembered...

I don't even know what you do with Bond after how it ended. I'd be all for relegating the Craig Bond and all it's happenings to an alternate universe.

Ya, my assumption for a while has been that each individual Bond actor is their own character stream, or whatever you might call it (refuse to use the M word). That is the only way it works if they are casting an old Bond. I am sure bringing back Brosnan for this is being considered. Curious if the supposed older Bond is just a cameo sort of thing or significant role.

Watched Leave the World Behind because a huge Sam Esmail fan. Thought it was good. The suspence was interesting throughout, good cast, loved the cinematography. And honestly, I could see something like that unfold in the near future.

Also watched Triangle of Sadness. For anyone who is into black comedy or the films of Ruben Ostlund, it's probably his best. The 2nd part (The Yacht) was such an interesting journey.

It's really no different than what they do with Spiderman. New actors get their own take on the same old Bond formula.

If they brought Brosnan back I'd be so jazzed. I think he's a great Bond and his films are so much fun (well the first 2 that I've re-watched so far). With Andrew Garfield getting another chance to play Spiderman, I would love for Brosnan to get another chance to go out on top.

Saw Killers Of The Flower Moon last night. Excellent movie, very well acted and extremely disturbing. I had read the book prior and felt the movie did a good job representing the content of the book well. It is incredibly long. It might have been more well suited as a 3 part miniseries.

I want to see a Nolan-directed Bond badly.

Watched it a few days ago too. Definitely a good film. I didn't think it was as epic or breathtaking as other said it was. Was great to see DeNiro is a staring role where he wasn't some joke old grandpa. Shades of his mafioso film days. He stole the show for me. Every actor was great in this one. Could have been a bit shorter and it got a bit confusing at one point, but maybe a rewatch one day will fit it all together nicely.

The one thing I loved about DeNiro's performance was how muted and calm he was. It made his malice all the more sinister coming from this cold and calculated place. Brilliant choice to go that route.

Yes watching DeNiro is a strong reminder of why he's a legend. He really made you believe that this guy who is purposely decimating this population of people also had a strong respect for them as well. Such a strange feeling. The whole story (and the real documented story, which the movie appears to do justice IMO) makes you wonder how the Osage didn't see what was happening and why they kept marrying these scumbags.

I'd say all the performances were top notch and I'm sure when Leo is 80 and still doing his thing, we'll have the same view.

It would be even better if he worked with a character that was actually interesting.

Was Craig's iteration not the most interesting & multidimensional the character has ever been?

Nolan would've done great with him.

But yeah, Nolan's films have plenty of bland characters too. I'm not exactly sure that's where his directing shines through (although Opprnheimer was excellent in that regard).

Craig's iteration was far more serious to the point his movies strayed too far from the original formula. I preferred the campy fun under Connery and Moore over the Bourne seriousness of Craig's Bond.

Craig was unwatchable. Ruined every single Bond movie he was in. They were all the worst.

Gremlins doesnt get enough credit as a Christmas movie.

If microwaving an animal doesnt set the Holiday spirit then I just dont know what does!
