I’ve said it before but I would trade Huberdeau straight up for Nurse for the slight cap savings and 1 fewer year.

The big difference tonight was that the Avs have two elite players, and the Flames have none.

Hope Tanev is OK. Hard to beat the Avs. Good effort but too many mistakes. Get as much rest as you can, tomorrow will be even harder.

MacKinnon, McDavid, Makar, etc. all the "Macs" are difference makers and that's what this team is missing. Huberdeau is such a complementary, situational, and inconsistent player it sucks for $10.5M. Goodbye competitiveness for 7 years with this much salary locked up.

Give up 3 third period goals with no answer…seems about right although they definitely deserved a W.
Super happy I didn’t waste money as there were plenty of seats up for sale and I was on the fence, but late start and this team so…

I thought he kept them in it early.
…but the end results can’t be argued with. Decidedly average is probably being kind.

Seriously?
Vladar more than did his job in this game. Not one of the goals were his fault

Flames tossing the puck around like a grenade was not luck for the avalanche. That's a coaching issue. Flames have to keep the foot to the pedal when they have a lead. Very disappointing to see the effort ranmp back up when they were down a goal..

LOL
They were both -4 after 2 periods.
People see what they want to see.

They need to kindly remove him from Wolf's way (when Marky's back)
I get those were not easy shots some of them but he needs to do his part to ensure they get it to OT at least.

Fun times.

Probably best he goes down now for a bit, can come back healthyish closer to trade deadline and then we’ll need to trade him post haste.
No way he was staying healthy for all 82.

No. But maybe adding more talent will help him find his game.
Hes been terrible as a Flame, and has somehow been worse this season than last season. But he''s not going anywhere. No one is taking that contract (it's the worst contract in the NHL) and it's impossible to buy it out.
Also while he wasn't the solution tonight...he wasn't necessarily the problem either. He's not the reason they allowed 6 goals as he was even on the night (1GF, 1 GA).
Andersson was a bit of a tire fire tonight IMO, on the ice for 5 goals against and didn't have a good game at all. But sure let's all blame Huberdeau.

Goal 4 was a total fluke for Colorado. That hurt.
But, the Flames had a pp when up 5-3 and it was total trash. It's time to fire Marc Savard. What a putrid hire that was. It's one thing to get some chances and be snakebite. It's a other to not even be able to enter the offensive zone, let alone generate quality chances.

No way. They didn't make a single bad play the whole game. The only player who makes bad plays is Huberdeau!

Bad passing is a coaching issue?
We're getting some wild takes tonight
