It’s not Flames specific. The refs aren’t good across the league. There’s no anti-Flames bias.

If you think your support of the Flames would make you biased in calling for a boarding penalty there, consider whether you would complain if a Flame was penalized for the same thing. If it was Andersson who was doing the hitting, I wouldn't have been surprised if he got 5.

This. Officials manage games. They make the game about themselves and control the game as much as they can. If the Avs were already up by 2 they probably call a minor there. It is early and scoreless and the Avs are one of the league's darlings, unless he has beheaded him they were not calling it. Even then it would be 50/50. I have said for years the NHL needs an independent investigator to be put in charge of officiating. Have quarterly reviews and pay these guys per game. The more bad games you have the less you work. The problem there is a think Bettman and his old boys club have instructed them to do exactly what they do. We know Peele was caught and Fraser had confirmed before that they are instructed to manage games. Until the game is called straight up which will never happen under the current regime we will get this bs.
