Not to follow the Josh Whedon theme from the thread about Rambo, but the girl who looks like a terminator is River from Serenity and Firefly

I don't know what to think about this series. On the one hand I love the Terminator movies so this would be up my alley. However the opportunity to ruin it is there and that preview was an exact carbon copy of the movies. Heck, they even showed a scene of removing bullets from the terminator, and the line "come with me if you want to live" was in the movies as well. I hope they don't just take the movies and stretch them out over a season.

Looks like it's worth checking out. What would 'mid-season' mean for a start date? Do TV 'seasons' start in November or so?

Maybe January or so. Shows like 24 do that, LOST is doing it next year.

Whoa, I remember hearing about a possible TV show after T3, but this is pretty awesome.
Summer Glau is a good actress too, good for her.

many people watched this about a year ago alredy when it was leaked online. I don't like the kid who plays Jon. I hope they have tweaked/res-hot some of it and included the theme.
***spoilers***
highlight
It's hot having a teenage girl terminator.

Great debut . . . . very interesting and entertaining . . . . . except maybe the part where Sarah Conner is protecting herself from the Terminator bullets by hiding behind a nicely stuffed recliner.
Otherwise, looked great. More tonight.

I'm kind of messed up with regards to the timeline. Do the events of this series take place before Terminator 2?

It was 2 years after T2, then they jumped to 2007.... All the timelines of T3 are now shot to hell.

Well this is Sarah Conner, just to keep up the suspension of disbelief, I'm betting it was a Kevlar lined recliner

I really enjoyed it!! Im the biggest Terminator fan and I was really skepitcal going into it, but I thought it was pretty damn entertaining for a TV show and I didn't find it to be too contrived, but I did have the sense during the third movie.
I'll definitely be watching episode 2 tonight.

I liked it too, and for what it's worth, in that very last scene with the cops investigating the house, they said "that recliner was lined with kevlar!". But I wouldnt read too far into how realistic a show about attacking robots is

I recorded it last night so I'm glad to hear that most people liked what they saw. I will watch it tonight with anticipation.

I'm always amazed at what lousy shots robots really are in movies and tv shows. Asimov would be ashamed.

I enjoyed it... I'm not sure that I believe that they'd make an innocent teenage girl Terminator. I mean, even the fight scenes were a little too much in that department. But, I was able to look past that and enjoy it. It's funny the thread we made about the discrepancies in the Terminator series, and now the whole "Who created Skynet if Dyson was killed?" question will be answered.
I haven't seen T2 in a while, but IIRC, that was the same actress that played Dyson's wife, right?
Interesting start... lets see what they do with it now.
