Obviously CP doesn't matter, thats not what I was saying at all. But I can imagine a world where people posting his girlfriends flight data on Twitter and messing up Kikuchi's surprise party (again on twitter) could give him second thoughts.

I honestly think that's still his plane.
Actually think the "He's still in California" comes from his camp and the Blue Jays camp and dont think it's a coincidence all that noise refuting that was his plane only started after the plane landed.
Announcement would never have been tonight if he was only arriving at 4:00 PM. Need to finalize the contract, need to probably do a physical, and that's even if they are close enough that this is done. Maybe he just wanted to do a final visit of the facilities in Toronto.
