The worst thing about Loubo was yeah there was some criticism well many liked him, but Sportsnet actually gave into one sociopathic fan online that was hyper-fixated and not well in terms of going after him.

It's been almost a day and I'm still annoyed someone suggested Mikk's analysis is better than Cassie Campbell's because Mikk's brother played professionally. Pretty gross stuff

I respect what these guys do...its a tough gig
we don't need any personal attacks in here
I suggest some of you put on some highlights and record yourself doing PBP, you might get a new appreciation for how hard it is
people can have their preferences but some of these comments are embarrassing

I definitely prefer Mikkelson over Campbell by a mile, although it has nothing to do with her brother, didn't even know she had a brother.
I kind of group Derek Wills and Cassie similar, they never seem to add any form of value to the conversation, I get not everyone is tuned into the team as much as others, and so you have to appeal to the masses, but it's like I know what those two are going to say before they say it.
Whereas I find Meghan offers new insight, usually backed up by stats, but it doesn't seem like she is just always repeating the same information.

It reminds me of people saying "I could do standup" then get on the stage buddy. It's harder than it looks.
Especially commentary about peoples voices. Talking for that period of time is hard on your voice. They sound bad because of wear and tear, its not an intentional choice.

I actually was in radio and still do multimedia broadcasting.. You do need a good voice or at least somthing that is neutral. She passes now, but 15 years ago, not a chance in hell. She was hired to fill a diversity roll. She'd not good, she not bad, she's fine. Some people just can't seem to understand that this is the way things are now.
But please, stop lying to yourself, shes nothing special.

Does that happen anywhere else? The local broadcast affiliate not sending PBP to call the games live.
Embarrassing.

No. I guarantee you, no no she wasn't
No
She is very smart, knows the sports more than anyone at 960, yep. But Gretzky made a pretty bad coach. He was definitely the best player to set foot on the coyotes bench.
I think she can definitely do the job, but needs to work on her approach.
But don't lie and say she's best for the job. I could wake up from a drunken stopper and still list 10 others that would be better.
Sarah Crosbie, if she had an interest in the job, would be amazing, shes a pro, and at the time was looking for work.

You can tell NHL broadcasters are all over the diversity issue just by looking at all their crews and panels. Eye roll

Diversity for the sake of improving the product is good.
Diversity for the sake of appeasing a small group on twitter or X. Disney

What is with this recent trend of calling anyone with a different opinion a liar?
No one is lying to themselves.
I think she is terrific! And I am pretty confident that I am not lying to myself.

I don't know about that. He seems nice & well mannered enough.
But the awkward homer energy is pervasive on the broadcast and round tables. It's reminiscent of the weird, delusional oiler personalities up north, and I hate the idea that we have a jock sniffer of our own.
Being just 20% less tone deaf with his takes would do wonders for the guy.
