12 to 19 games in that time range. Hope Wolf gets at 5 to 8 of those games

I look at this year as a free "experimental" time ....so, let's do that! Hopefully Flames management sees it similarly.

Sucks for Markstrom who has arguably been our MVP thus far this season.
But damn, this is exciting. Finally an opportunity to see what Wolf can do.

play them until they lose a game. Even in back to backs.

Hard disagree with that. He's been fine, but nowhere near mvp level.

I'm curious how much rope Vladar will get if he doesn't play well right away.

I actually that he's been the MVP not 'League MVP' but 'Flames MVP.'
Its a much lower bar, but I think he cleared it this season.
He's been backstopping some really rough performances in front of him.
He's better than he was last year...also a bar so low even Hermes Conrad couldnt Limbo under it.

Who's your MVP? The only other candidates are Weegar and maybe Coleman.

There's no big difference between Vladar and Markstrom at this point. Both have their ups and downs.

... he has an .896 sv%.
I mean yes the Flames don't have any real standout players now and it's very much goals by committee but a goalie with an .896 sv% isn't the MVP of anything.

Markstrom has not been catching many breaks this season. Hoping for a good recovery.

Marky is not the Flames MVP.
Outside of the start to 21/22 and having like 8 shutouts, and the Dallas series he has been a massive disappointment.
Our MPV so far has easily been Zary or Weegar.

Yep if you use only that stat.

Marky has been really all over the place. He's consistently letting in bad goals early, but then totally redeeming himself by making huge saves late. Vladar seems to be following the same trend. It's like the entire team is asleep for the first half of many games actually. Makes for some exciting second half hockey, but I wouldn't call any part of our defensive, including the goalies, game the "MVP".

Who is then?
Not a high scoring team, so no forward with splashy numbers.
Not a great defensive team, so no defenseman with shut down elite numbers (there's not a single player in the top 75 in xGA60)
You have a team that gives up few shots, but has a high expected goals against total suggesting the goaltender is lifting above his counting stats.
Not sure who else you'd pick.
