The talent disparity between the NFL and CFL is far wider now than it was in the 90s for a variety of reasons.

Has nothing to do with hating the CFL. If Rourke can't beat out a career backup then it suggests he might not be the elite QB in waiting you think he is. Beathard knows the offense far better, only way Rourke gets in is if Beathard gets hurt too.

Did you even watch the preseason? Well of course you didn't. why would you watch the Jags? He was lights years ahead of Beathard. He didn't get the job because Beathard and Lawrence are best buds.

Light years ahead, yet can't get ahead of him on the depth chart, nor has any of the other QB desperate teams poached him from the practice squad (where another team can sign him for no compensation). I'm looking forward to the Rourke career post-script where we can dream about the 12 Super Bowls he didn't win because Beathard and Lawrence are buddies or whatever.

Yeah why would the Jags piss off their franchise QB? If Rourke made the team Beat Hard wouldn't be on the roster.
