Buffalo and Lindholm are such a good fit on paper. They need a strong 2 way veteran center. They have a plethora of youth to move around.
Cozens (free up cap room), a 2nd.

Marek was talking to a Bruin reporter today, and that guy was pretty sure that the Bruins are very interested in Hanifin....something about since his draft day (didnt catch it all) and would also be looking at Lindholm.
Mentioned Debrusk and another as roster guys possible as part of any return.

Toronto needs to remain competitive.
Something built around Matthew Knies for tanev and Dube.

Buffalo currently has $10.2mil in cap space while most of the league is at or over it. Why would they give up on a young prospect that just scored 30 goals last season that they just signed to a long term deal just to clear cap space...that they don't need?
Man, CP trade proposals today are straight up HF boards level. Is it a full moon or something?

Sounds like, from Friedman, that Toronto needed Calgary to retain on both Tanev and Zadorov but wasn’t willing to buck up what Calgary was wanting to retain on both
And I bet Tanev was the higher priority for Toronto
If Klingberg is out for the year it seems like there is a deal to be made there

So when they extend Lindholm it's somewhat of a lateral move on cap space and they use remaining to sign other young players in next 1-2 years and be flexible. It's not Rocket science. And trading young players for established players happens every year.

The NHL updated governors today on the latest revenue projections for the season and as expected, the league told owners the salary cap for next season is projected to be around $87.7 million

Cozens is probably already better, and a LOT more valuable.

Boston doesn't have the assets. Why would Conroy be interested in another 40-50 point left winger? Wishful thinking on the Bruins there

Boston has Lysell, 2025 1st, 2026 1st, 2026 2nd as far as assets.
I’d be interested in those - but they certainly aren’t chips that should be priorities as they’d surely be matched by other teams.

Don't forget Matthew Poitras, Mason Lohrei, Brett Harrison, and Johnny Beecher. I would take Poitras over Lysell.

Poitros was the other guy mentioned on that Marek interview i think.
Likely on his podcast from earlier today if anyone is interested.

According to Shane Seney of nhltraderumors.com, the Yotes and Flames could hook up for a blockbuster in-season trade involving Hanifin. He sites Friedman as saying that Arizona has "more than kicked tires on Hanifin", on 32 thoughts.
Another situation that's developing is that Kuznetsov will be scratched against the Coyotes.

Poitros is already on their active roster and contributing, I’d be surprised to see them move him.

ARZ has a what's what of goodies in their tickle trunk. If they wanted to move for some players they has an abundance of assets to move.
I'd move heaven and earth to get Simashev on the Flames roster list. Pipe dream though.
Dylan Guenther, Soderstrom would be a 2 for 1 package I'd love to see for Hanifin.
I'd honestly move mang for a pick of theirs too if the Yotes wanted to go full baller.
