**Injury Update** 🚑🚨
I’m told it’s a broken finger for @MapleLeafsD Giordano, typically 4 to 6 week timeline range.

#LeafsForever will continue observing the market for any potential fit and price they’re comfortable with. #HockeyX #HockeyTwitter .

It's always crazy to me how long a broken finger keeps guys out, compared to some other seemingly more serious injuries.

It's ok TO. We've got your fix, and all it will cost you is Willie Nylander.

Well at least a broken finger shouldn't stop him from running(for PM).

Hope Gio gets well soon, but only after Tre overpays us for a D.

I think the Leafs would move Nylander for multiple assets only because he is pricing himself out of that market. Then you have to be sure you can sign him. I think you are looking at 11M AAV, do we really want to go down that road?

Yes, if he has any sort of chemistry with Huberdeau. This team needs an offensive game breaker more than anything.

Also, I think it would be beneficial for our forward prospects to have a guy that's elite at scoring around.

Ok, the Leafs D is decimated and they are trying to win now. Hanifin 50% retained and extended, Tanev 50% retained (Leafs can extend him,he will sign there) and Dillon Dube for William Nylander extended. The caveat is if Calgary is on his NTC list and if they are if he would waive. I am sure his dad has had lots of good things to say about Calgary so maybe it's doable. Would you say no?

A few weeks ago flames are sucking, no one wants to sign here, and Tre is asking us to retain half on a trade and probably offering a 2nd rounder and nick robertson.

now? Klingberg turns into the pumpkin we knew he was. Gio breaks a finger. Toronto can win in regulation. Rest of leafs' D swoons. Flames start to win. And a little cherry on top.....Conroy drops a little tidbit to Friedman that he may try to sign Tanev.

Love it.

Did the wizard tell you this?

I doubt this is true
He doesn’t have a 2nd for the next next 5 yrs or something like that

Ha. Just a wild guess but something underwhelming was my point.

Nic Robertson and a 2nd for Tanev wouldn't be that underwhelming, would it?

If it’s 21.5 mil for Nylander and Huberdeau and they don’t have chemistry it would test my currently fleeting interest in the team. ~1/4 of your cap space tied into a 115 turned 50 point pumpkin and the 3rd best forward on perennial playoff disappointments sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Almost no chance they deal Nylander. He's arguably been their best guy this year. When has a contender ever done such a thing? They'll take him to the playoffs and let him walk.

It’s fine ish if Calgary had any space for Robertson, there’s already too many waiver eligible forwards on the team and in the system that need time. I’d definitely prefer getting a forward further away from waiver eligibility or a d-man. Liljegren would be the big prize, I think he could shake loose.

At this point they almost need to dump Marner. They can’t keep all 3 with what Nylander will cost now.

For their sake it would be nice if they could dump Taveras of the big four forwards. But I can't see that working, especially since John dreamed of playing in Toronto and made it happen.
