Hanifin is bringing in a first+.

And the Coyotes view could change.

But it may depend is Hanifin is willing to extend but only with one or maybe two teams.

So many unknown variables.

I feel like Hanifin or any younger player would jump at signing on a long term contract with Arizona unless he wants to play out east. Up and coming youth movement, warm, anonymity, new arena on the way.

Historically Arizona has not been a destination for players with options.

We’ll see if that changes.

Offer them Hanifin for 10 2nd rounders and 7 3rd rounders.

I think Soderstrom + x2 2nds could be a realistic return.

Soderstrom was drafted by the old guard and hasn't necessarily proven himself to be untouchable.

I feel like Arizona would be a more popular destination if the Coyotes were not constantly a dumpsterfire

Absolutely, and even if it looks like they are trending in the opposite direction I would be hesitant with their past. But all signs point to them building through the draft and slowly developing their talent.

Totally. If not for how bad the team was managed over the years and the uncertainty that plagued them, I don't think they would have any trouble attracting players. When the Jets first moved there, they had a lot of star players sign up to play there.

It will change once they announce their move to Houston or Salt Lake City in the new year.

Imagine signing an 8-year deal to play in Arizona and then the team moved to Quebec City

Seravalli was saying on Barnburner he thinks there's only a 20% chance the Yotes play at Mullet arena next year(Pinder and Warrener both looked surprised).

Said if the team moves the most likely destination would be Salt Lake.

Cooley and a 1st!

I mean, who in their right mind would do that but Arizona's gotta Arizona, right?

I may be delirious.

I remember there being a rumour Doan was going to invoke his NMC to void his contract if the Coyotes ever moved.

He talked about it, then was told it wouldn't wash.

A lot of prospects sound great on scouting reports, but Soderstrom does sound like something the Flames don't have in the system:

Smart, two-way defenseman who projects to become possibly a top-pairing blueliner. Great puck-mover, good skater, has a excellent shot, and likes to throw his weight around.
