Maybe length of the school day is different? I remember coming home for lunch and having time to watch both Buckshot and the Brady Bunch, while my daughter has a 35 minute lunch break. An extra half hour a day of lunch break would add up pretty fast.

article on the CBC website recently about car sales.
Basically said that the dealerships don't feel a need to negotiate much as there will be 3 people right behind you ready to buy that car.
you walk, they don't care too much, especially with used cars.
not sure if that's true. I could see it, though.

The lack of rules, regulations, regulatory body and more for that industry in Canada is downright shocking!! The amount that they must funnel into politicians pockets must be something else.
Very few businesses are able to operate with that level of impunity and pull the things the industry as a whole is able to pull off. The level of financial fraud would be shocking to a lot of people!

When a rep comes by to shake your hand, wish you a Merry Christmas, and hand you a card.
It grinds my gears when nothing is in the card but "good wishes".
I spent about $350,000 with your company this year that I could have spent with your competitors. That doesn't rate even a box of chocolates?

Maybe it’s your industry? this time of year I have to beat reps away with a stick. Lunch’s, Christmas parties, gifts. It’s a bit much to be honest.

Then make disturbing consistent eye-contact while you light it on fire on the spot.
Never breaking contact.

Did the term "Human Fund" appear anywhere in the message? Perhaps there's been a generous donation made in your name.

fortunately very little of my wood is handmade since I got a girl friend. Most of it is beaver made these days.

The amount of time a child is allowed unsupervised on school grounds or at home is one that I feel has changed drastically.
When I was a kid, some kids stayed at home on their own from around the age of 7-8. We'd occasionally figure out who and it was common for kids to not tell the adults because we knew it would get kids and their families in trouble. I think it was frowned upon because kids aren't allowed home on their own until age 11 or 13 or under the supervision of a kid around 13?
I wonder if part of this is causing for the situation to become more uncommon, thus increasing stress, less parents willing to do it and paying for child care (which are fair, but not an amount to scoff at) that increases that stress. I think more and more families are also dual working parents now, which also means that opportunities for kids to follow friends home and then get picked up by parents at a later time (without the costs of child care) have also diminished drastically.

Calgary Catholic School Board has backtracked on their one day a week late start plan after the overwhelming negative feedback. Guess this can go to the what makes me happy thread now.

"Handmade" is pretty nebulous marketing term (because if we want to get pedantic even a mass-produced car has some hands or people involved at some point) but I'm pretty sure you're well and good. I guess you could always be exclusively using hand tools for the extra cache, but clearly you're an artisan. It's not like you're punching in a design on a computer and a 3D router cuts out 500 units on an assembly line.

This has always been the dumbest one. Unless there is some robot scooper that I'm unaware of, how else do you get the ice cream out of the bucket?

It's not about how the ice cream is scooped, it's to differentiate their product from places like McDonald's and Dairy Queen that don't use real hard ice cream in their shakes.

Unless this is your own private company most of us have COBE to follow and gifts are usually thrown in the office kitchen for everyone to pick through.

Ouch.

This is an odd post.
In a prior life I used to put lots of money into my company's service provider, I never expected something, other than good service, in return.
It just seem such an odd mindset

If the ingredients are indeed the differentiator (which makes sense), I find it odd to put the focus on an action that doesn't really speak to it.
Btw, as much as I like "real" ice cream, sometimes nothing hits the spot like some machine-scooped fake ice cream from McD's or Wendys.
