I mean it's not unfathomable that in an attempt to do too much and make a lasting impression that Zadorov could try to lay a huge hit and end up taking out Hughes as collateral damage which leads to a 2-0 against. At which point Hughes goes back to the bench a tears a strip off management for no bringing back the much more reliable Tanev.

Not notoriously a good combination. Solo usually ends up getting tortured.

Do we have to do this?
Gets old.
He was an entertaining 5th defenseman with some intangibles. The team is looking to retool so he got moved out because they don't want to tie cap up on the bottom half of the roster.
Do we have to bash the player now?

IDK his agent said (with his permission let's be real) that he wanted a trade to showcase himself on a contender and called him the best damn on the team. It was massive distraction and could have easily been avoided. He also was a distant 5th so it's laughable. His actions hurt the return for sure.
Funny that his "contender" team to showcase his skills are the Canucks that can't beat playoff teams.
I'll be booing my TV

Was thinking the same thing. Hopefully we get some good odd man rushes when he pinches for a big hit.

Inconsistent Is the word you are looking for. The positives were the some big hits and he would get hot offensively occasionally. He was also a turnover machine most nights and you always were nervous with him on the ice and play in the defensive zone. I think the team will be better off defensively without him.

I really like Zadorov but I also hope he has one of his games where he tries to do too much. Defensive zone turnovers leading to goals, bad penalty early to spark the Flames PP, and joins a rush only for a turnover to lead to a Flames odd man rush. If Big Z is really feeling it and drops his gloves I hope it’s Gilbert there to tune him up.
And if we Flames fans are trying to take the moral high ground I hope Z is a non factor and the Flames just grind out another convincing win on the backs of activated defensemen.

Darryl brought the best out of Z. He will play better under a coach like Tocchet (this is not a knock against Huska).

I really grew to like Zadorov as a Flame but I think he thrives in sheltered minutes with reliable defensive partners. I am not sure that he’ll get that in Vancouver and it could lead to some serious adjustment issues and could damage his value as he heads to free agency.
If Milstein really wanted to maximize Z’s value, he might have been better recommending Z to stay in Calgary and continue to play quality minutes rather than quantity minutes. Letting teams imagine him as a top four defenseman might prove to be a better strategy than forcing him into top four minutes on a team with a system that he isn’t familiar with and partners that he has no chemistry with.
