Also Treliving is now going to be extra desperate to land Tanev. Conroy needs to squeeze him hard!

He has played substantially worse this year...if you have been in game threads you would know this is not new take from me.
Also, my main concern is his future contract...at the time of his last deal I thought he could step into a top four role but he has proven that wrong.
Zadorov has one goal and has cost a bunch
last year he had 14
He just might be playing worse now
Yes things do change...Gaudreau and Huberdeau outscored Drai, Matthews, Marner, Ovi, Crosby, ect. 2 years ago too
like what are you even arguing? do you think the Flames should have gave him term and more $$$ or are you calling me out for changing my mind based on circumstances? because that would be pretty stupid.

Don't know about being substantially worse. Is he playing as well as last year? Not yet. Is he a severe liability out there? Not even close.
In his own words, Sutter put him in the right situations and utilized him probably as well as possible, with Gudbranson and since. He also responded well to Sutter's guidance and demands these past years and enjoyed playing for him.
Of course there is some overlap in systems but Huska definitely has an adjusted role for defenseman to be a little more forward thinking, certainly showcased this last month. So, he's adjusting to that and a new style coach. There's a lot of players that have taken a while to adjust to the new coach and his style..though thankfully most seem to be catching on.
But yeah everyone was playing like junk up until that Eastern trip. Then his agent turns up the heat and the spotlight on him unfairly (a public demand like that just juices up the Internet and bloggers, and it didn't change his negotiations or availability status), and he's had to deal with that now day today in the room, on the ice, and at home.

He played alot better before the trade request came out IMO. You seemed alot more critical of him after that request came out as well, but no doubt that is only a coincidence.

You kind has been changed largely because he is no longer a Flame.
He’s the same dman he always was. Once he demanded a trade, he became useless.

I somewhat think that pro players are encouraged to set up a personal brand, probably most likely by their agents or the agency (maybe that's included with some agencies and the fees the players pay to them) for various reasons. Protect their likeness, future business opportunities, maybe tax reasons (?).
Always found it odd that ex Raptors coach Nick Nurse had a personal brand, and this was years before he won the NBA championship.

Z has not been substantially worse this season. He’s probably played his best hockey this year.
Fan criticism skyrocketed after the trade request, which is to be expected. He’s a depth defenceman who was a fan favourite for hits, occasional exciting offensive adventure, and for being outspoken against Putin/Russia. So once he requests that trade, the fan favourite shine dulls immediately and you’re left with what he is - and what that’s worth is yeah, a 3rd and a 5th.

One take I liked: Zadorov returned more assets back than Gaudreau!
Even if the value is below fans' expectations Conroy is clearly stirring this team in the right direction. He also hasn't made any blunders yet.

If you want to look at it that way, he returned more than Gaudreau, Giordano, Brodie, Jankowski, Ryan, Kulak and Cammalleri combined!

So some stuff that is now getting talked about that I didn't realize
Zadorov has played with Tyler Myers, Ian Cole and Pius Suter. In the off-season he shares a strength and conditioning coach with Ilya Mihkeyev, Andrei Kuzmenko and Vasili Podkolzin. He grew up playing with Kuzmenko and his wife and Mihkeyev's wife are apparently best friends.
So this may be a mixture of personnel and personal acquisition.
Oh, and according to Zadorov his NHL team growing up was the Canucks.

This time next month you'll want the draft picks back.

He scored 14 goals last year! On pace for 4
Basically the same lol
I have found far more egregious errors this season and have been calling them out back to the heritage classic game thread.
BEFORE THE TRADE REQUEST
