Good for him. He's been really good for the Wranglers for a while and I liked a lot of what I saw from him in the NHL so far too.

I'm a little bit confused why Conroy decided to be coy about which defenseman was going to get the opportunity. Maybe they were considering having him wait for a while longer in the minors and didn't want to put pressure on him if the recall didn't happen right away?

Conroy specifically talked about this yesterday, without mentioning him by name. Really interested to see how he plays as the D right now is a Tanev injury away from being a huge question mark.

I wonder if Connie wasn't actually talking Poirier, but given injury status and knowing Solo was coming up he didn't want to specify.

(or perhaps Connie just wanted to tell Solo in person and not during an interview with the media)

I hope he plays much better than in his first 2 games. He looked like a very good stay at home D in the preseason. I see a similar career path to Kulak, which I won't be disappointed by. For a 7th round pick he's found money, more of those kinds of picks.

What is Poirier's time line? I see him as being a replacement for Hanifin ( stylistically).

Not a lot of Wranglers defensemen left now, due to callups and injuries. DeSimone, Lyle, Kuznetsov, Aspirot ... pretty thin group.

It sounded very imminent so I think Solo.

Now make Toronto overpay for Tanev while they are broken.

Poirier was at 7pts in 4GP before the freak skate accident

Still only at +1 for +/- despite that, which seems to indicate deficiencies on the defensive side of things still.

I suspect Treliving will start to panic and make a big pitch for Tanev before he gets away.

It depends on the severity of the injury, but skate lacerations requiring surgery are usually around a 3 or 4 month recovery time. I'd be surprised to see him back before the end of January. It could be perfect timing though, a few weeks with the Wranglers to get back up to speed, then join the Flames around the trade deadline after Tanev and Hanifin are moved.

the possibility of Kyllington returning gives the Flames a lot of options, It feels to me like a best case with respect to moving Hanifin and Tanev.

He is getting roasted over Zadorov but they have no cap space...record is okay but below expected and Nylander is their best player lol

The good old days, especially Hull and Fleury

It’s crazy people passed on HoF type players right in their back yard
