I just realized that after tonight, Huberdeau now leads the team in scoring

And why does Toronto always feel the need to interfere in Flames games. Never seems to happen in Oiler or Canucks games.

This is infuriating.

After that penalty shot, I figured tonight's officials were corruptible, so I bribed them very handsomely to disallow everything after that point. They made up a barely plausible excuse to nix the Flames' next goal, but they totally missed the one after that. And then in overtime, they just half-assed it and the goal ended up counting.

I learned my lesson: Some people just won't stay bought.

What a waste of a dollar!

Wow, that was really fun!

I have to give this group a ton of credit. When this part of the schedule came up, I thought they were going to hit a wall and their shortfall of talent would be pretty fatal. On the contrary, they have kept pace with the top teams in the West in the games and now they are right in the mix for a Wild Card spot.

It's a surprise after how they looked early in the season, but I've got to say that the players and the coaching staff have put something impressive together here. When they went down 3-2, I felt myself move to the edge of my seat believing they would make a push and even when the Backlund goal was called back I had a lot of hope. Contrast that with last year when they would get down 1-0 early and it felt like the game was over.

They are winning me over for sure. Hopefully they can keep it up!

This game shouldn’t have been as close as it was. Stars lucky to get a point.
3 shots : 1 challenge ratio -may never see that again

Last bad game was 19 days ago vs Ottawa and probably the outdoor game 13 days before that.
Unfortunate not to have more points in November actually.

The activation of the D is really paying off...like it did the first year under Peters.

Really, really happy for this team. Great game. Almost got screwed by the refs and the whiny Stars. Well done, Flames.

Flames looking pretty dominant in a lot of games lately, against decent teams too.

Maybe Huska is a good coach with a strong system? Just took 10+ games to get it locked in?

Win Saturday and they are 6 back of the "amazing contender" Canucks who have played the Sharks 3 times

When it comes to the Flames, I fear stretches in the schedule against bubble teams and bottom feeders much more than these "prove it" games.

That's where this team will break your heart.

I had said before that 15 points in next 10 games would put the team on a 92 point pace which considering the start would be exceptional. And in the heart of the playoff race.

Now they need 13 points in 9 games.

Despite extremely hard work tonight by the refs they still have to pay their bookies.
