Garcia Marries Playmate
Take that, T.O.!
http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Football/N...90703-sun.html
Jeff Garcia may be the biggest name in Calgary this weekend for Henry Burris' All-star weekend but by no means will all eyes be on the former Stampeders star.
Instead, they'll be on Garcia's bride, Carmella DeCesare, the 2004 Playboy playmate of the year.

GOAT!

... and in related news ...
(I'm kidding. I've been a Garcia fan since day one. Grats, Jeff, she's deffinitely someone worthy of interrupting a Steve Nash presser for.)

I KNOW!!!!
I also thought he was....you know.....which I thought made it even more impressive he could make it big in the NFL.
10 years ago if you had asked me who would be the first high profile athelete in a major league sport to come out, I'd have laid out $100.00 on Garcia.

All because of a lisp. All straight guys with lisps must be raising a toast to Garcia this weekend?

I met them both this weekend at Henry Burris' all-star thingy at the Westin. All I can say is Shazam! She is ridiculous.

While it is typical for athletes to marry playmates/models etc. Something is fishy about Jeff Garcia. Since he's been in the NFL it was commonplace for him to be seen with playmates/models etc. For someone who has gotten by on their grit and determination over skill and who usually has a better sound byte than the old 'give it 110%' it almost seems like overcompensation. He never really struck me as the 'typical' athlete type. That being said what do I know.

I love the fact he always embraced his time here, and isn't afraid to bring it up even though he's "made it big". It's great how he comes back everyone once in a while too. Nice to see nice guys like Jeff make it.
I saw the "CFL/NFL Greats" episode and was shocked to hear all the tragedies his Mother and Father had to endure with their children.

From an article in the St. Petersburg Times
Quote:
|
"When people ask me what my greatest experience as a professional player has been, I have to be honest with them: My greatest achievement was winning a Grey Cup championship in Calgary, " Garcia said.

Garcia named starter in TB:
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...11/mmqb/1.html
"Jeff Garcia is far and away the best quarterback on our team at this point. He's a playmaker, he's accurate, and he's a fireball. I think Chris Simms is a good player, but two of the last three seasons he's had serious injuries. Right now, he's not in rhythm.''
-- Tampa Bay coach Jon Gruden, who named Garcia his starting quarterback on Friday.
