You're close. Asian communities/business are still very cash based. Pay cash no tax.
I'm throwing my parents a 50th anniversary party, dinner buffet for 100+ people. So that's half my money, $3500ish. My car has some dents and scrapes so some cash for the autobody shop. Yes, some Christmas and Chinese New Year cash to give out. And then whatever's left, put it on black?

Another reason I like the carriers here, they still include things with your ticket. The rot of American captilism hasnt quite got it fingers into this.

I'm doing this exact flight in February (Vancouver - Auckland and back), except I'm flying AC. I highly doubt the wi-fi is free on that one
Hope you had a good trip!

Emeraude. I mean, it's probably something else but honest to maude, I swear Emeraude is the old lady perfume of choice and they bathe in it. I sometimes think they also gargle it/drink it, & it just seeps from their pores. I run into someone's granny at the store at least once a month, who is wearing so much Emeraude, they should be green, and it's all I can do not to vomit as I'm sneezing. Heinous heinous perfume.

Speaking of flights, has Google ever become useless for searching. Hmm, $289 return to Phoenix for Dec 26 to 5th. That sounds pretty good. Except that the departing flight is through a third-party (sounds like a headache waiting to happen), and the return flight on Lynx doesn’t even exist.

Alerts in Flightaware FTW. When we're doing a pickup we get alerts for the flight. Once it lands we leave for the airport, the timing is usually pretty close that we will get there about the time the person is ready for pickup.

Well it arrived 1 hour and 21 minutes late, and I'm actually surprised they only left 2 hours late since the aircraft would need servicing and cleaning (that's a fast turn for a widebody like the 787-9), and as surferguy said they were checking out the radar too.
Edit: Me dumb, they probably already had the turn around time factored in, and the additional 2 hour delay could have been from some of that and the radar issue.

thats when you turn the overhead air jets on and do your best to direct it backwards towards them, and hope it doesn't freeze your skull.

All I probably need to tell Bigtime for him to track me is to say I'm flying Friday from Inuvik.

I didn't know, or maybe I did and forgot, that Amazon sometimes ships via Canada Post and it takes forever. I couldn't figure out why a recent Amazon Prime order was taking so long and I checked on the order and it was sent out with Canada Post. Gotta wait a week for delivery now.

have a broken tooth that's needs to be pulled once I can get to a dentist.
sucks as it's a tooth that's visible and will give me a hillbilly smile.
It's a premolar 2-4. so 4th tooth in on the top.
the worst part will be the fight about treatment. last tooth I had pulled the dentist wouldn't shut up about getting an implant. "but we do payments..."
you're pressuring me into treatment I can't afford, I'm never going back to you.
I'm assuming the same thing will happen. The dentist will argue the most passionately for the most expensive treatment option.

I have dentists bring up things that made me slightly self-conscious, but I never felt pressured by them. I think they’re really pushing night guards these days. My insurance covered it, so I just went with it, but I think there must be a dental convention where they learn what to pitch next.
Also, if the hilly billy smile is going to make you self-conscious and withdrawn, maybe consider it. They can’t make you get an implants. Seems like a simple “no thanks” interaction.

Last two aircraft I flew on (777-200 and 787-9) did not have those vents. Which surprised me.

One thing to take into consideration is that if you did end up doing the implant down the road you can have bone loss the longer you wait and then you might need bone grafting first which is significant extra cost and 10x more painful than an implant was. The gum line also recedes at the adjacent teeth with bone loss. It also takes longer as you have to wait multiple months for the bone grafting to heal before doing the implant. The cost definitely sucks and I’m still paying it off.
