The number of equipment destroyed dropping like a rock, but that doesn't stop Russia from sending more meat to the grinder in Avdviika.
It's fair to say that we likely won't see much movement territory wise until the late spring, but with the Kherson left bank being in full control of Ukraine, and with many Dnipro areas now passable once the grounds freeze, it will be interesting to see if this is the next phase.
The weather vids from Odessa are insane. This is a coastal city that gets very mild weather during winter. Right now, looks like a -30 Alberta blizzard there. Absolutely nuts. Crimea going through some flooding as well. Don't tell Yoko, but I think climate change might be real.

Usually any kind of offense on either side has ground to a halt. And we're going to look at static lines for the next 6 months. The lessons learned by the Nazi's in World War 2 continue til today.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
To put it in perspective, the much vaunted Battle of the Bulge which was a major Nazi counteroffensive that threw the Allies offguard and who had 700K troops by the end of the battle, and a similar amount of time and the biggest offensive the Allied faced in the entirety of the war.
Nazi Germany German:
67,675[12] casualties
(U.S. Estimate: 103,900[13][e] casualties)
527–554[14]tanks, tank destroyers and assault guns lost
c. 800 aircraft lost, at least 500 in December and 280 during Operation Bodenplatte[9]
These Avdiivka numbers are absolutely insane numbers even by any standards. And Russia has 2km to show for it.
