Much of that was during the trap era; the game is totally different today. The players today are faster and more skilled, and coaching strategies have also changed significantly.

But not enough that 5 mins if 4-on-4 would end in a goal more often than not. There would be MANY more shootouts.

4:56 without a whistle, 4 on 4, and with two sticks on the ice. Crazy

Coasted tonight so they'll have the energy to bring their A game for the mighty Oilers

That "no namer" would be #7 in scoring on the Oilers and the 6th highest scoring forward.

Amusingly, that actually IS the narrative that the HF boards are already going with...

I don't care how big or small a player is, they need to be assertive.
Very few guys get by on skill alone, and when the skill is middle of the road (like Ruzicka) it's impossible to stay in the league and be a passive perimeter player.
Kind of looks like Pospisil is eating his lunch.

Oilers are backup-bad this season.
Vegas watched tape of the Flames' last two games and knew right away which team was getting Hill.

No, no, no.
Teams play their backup against the Oilers because they know they're going to lose anyways.

Logan Thompson as your backup is pretty good TBF.

Got his 1st point the other night in game #14 lol.
That's an expensive point. Sadly just a nothing burger in an 8-2 game.

Ruzicka and Duehr are playing themselves off the team.
Looks like Zary, Pospisil and Gilbert are staying.
I bet the first two are gone when Pelletier is back and Coronato gets called back up. I’d give Klapka a shot too.
