Not a real back to back tho. No one plays tomorrow, not that the Grease media will acknowledge that and will absolutely use the back to back fatigue excuse
The Oilers Media Pollyannas are starting to turn on them. The old guard which featured the likes of Matheson and Jones have long been put out to pasture.
I don't think so, they just don't have any direction from the Oilers as to who to focus blame on right now, since the Good Ship Oilers has sprung multiple leaks.
Campbell? Done. Coach, and have him removed? Done.
Holland is next.
As for Spector, he clenches on to his Chief Editor of the Hockey News when it was so what relevant, as Al Bundy holds onto 4 tds.
The arrogance though that Peel exposed in his PMS should have him running for the hills, or at least, playing his violin as a victim soon enough.

Coach generic gif from NHL 2004 - "Alright guys, I'm really happy and pumped to be your coach. I've been watching your games, and I've seen a few things that I think will really help you defensively and win some games"
McDavid - "Nah, we're not going to do that"
Coach G - "Come on guys, We can't need at least 5 goals a game to win, we can't leave our goalies out to dry"
Draisaitl - "Look dude, unless you're here to talk about how you're going to get me and Conna some individual trophies, do your job and open the gate for us."
Coach G - "Look, I'm sure your team mates aren't happy to hear you guys talking like this"
Draisaitl and Conna at the same time - "F these guys, our backs hurt from carrying their useless a##es"
CoachG leans out the door "Hey Uncle Owen these two droids have bad motivators"

With this Flames game on right after, probably no one listened to CHED for the salt. Might be worth a listen when they post it tomorrow. I wonder what conspiracy theories callers touted tonight.

What would be the most fitting topic for an encore to the Covid call and the Israeli call?
I've rarely witnessed someone so proud for being so mediocre at a job for multiple decades that a teenaged fanatic could probably write articles as insightful and ask better questions in scrums (the bar being the dumbest #### you could imagine).
Spector lives very far up his own arse.
Between this exchange with Tim Peel and his recent article questioning why the GM doesn't come to him for advice, I think it's clear he's having a confidence crisis. This is how he's reacting to being called out for voting Skinner for the Calder, parade planning in September, etc. It all adds up. YEARS of bad takes are haunting him right now. E=NG weighs heavy on that guy. We tried to tell him.

The accumulation of bad takes over the years have definitely destroyed his credibility with other media types have taking him to task for his work. There really is something in the air up there as Terry Jones really lost it as well before they forced him into retirement.
The Oilers need a 65% win rate rest of the year (42-23-0), basically meaning they can't have any losing streaks anymore. And this is just to reach 95 points and not accounting for the eventual ties that bump up the win % even more. A single five game losing streak rest of the way would put that needed win rate to 70%.
i have been really impressed with one of their up and coming stars, Ryan McLeod. I thought i heard he hasnt scored in something like 32 games? He is lulling teams into thinking he is no good, then he will pounce.

I think we are at that point right now although it will be more to do with not being stuck there after those two bail.
Who in their right mind would sign a long term deal to go into that mess knowing that it is highly likely Draisaitl will be hitting UFA after the next season and McDavid the next. Only way that they stay is if they overpay like they did Nurse. At that point they will be mailing it in since they will be 30s. They might as well tour for charity playing shinny.

He’s being lapped by another up and coming Ryan, Derek Ryan that is…
No… wait… apparently Derek Ryan is almost 37 years old.
