Is the request unrealistic, yes, but if you want the goalie of your biggest rival because you believe he can help your team win with your two elite superstars, that is what the cost is.

I don't think any draft pick is truly unprotected anymore. Just how much protection there is.

Yes, I would absolutely trade Edmonton Markstrom for their unprotected 1st.

Because as good as markstrom has been he's not saving that tire fire and that top 10 pick will help expedite this rebuild/retool.

The only thing that gives me pause is taking back that sieve Campbell at his AAV.. would need enough retention to make it worthwhile.

Which would make it an awesome trade that I would love to see happen. If Edmonton is desperate (and they always are) then ring em up for a 10 bell return.

They can see what Marksrom has done so far this year and they know it is likely way better than any goaltending they've received so far. Desperate GM with 2 years left of Draisitl and McDavid with goaltending being their biggest weakness?

I could them going in on something huge for us if we take Campbell back. Could really set us up nicely for our retool/rebuild.
