What a ####ing piece of trash.

Quote:
According to a copy of the police report, which was obtained by the Boston Globe, Lucic allegedly pulled his wife’s hair and police “observed redness on the victim’s chest area.”
Quote:
“She stated that she attempted to walk away from her husband and stated that her husband grabbed her by the hair and pulled her backwards,” police wrote in the report, according to the Globe. “She stated that in doing so, the suspect stated to her that she was not going anywhere.”
Quote:
Police also wrote that Lucic appeared to be intoxicated when he answered the door and stated “nothing happened” and provided no explanation for the incident. When told that he was going to be arrested for domestic violence, officers observed a broken lamp on the nightstand and what appeared to be shards of broken glass on the floor, while escorting him to his bedroom to get clothing
Quote:
Sources also said Lucic’s children were hosting a sleepover at their downtown condo that night with friends over. According to the police report, the argument allegedly began over a missing cell phone.
Quote:
“Operations relayed to the responding officers that the reporting party/victim called and stated that her husband attempted to choke her,” police wrote, according to the Globe. “The victim stated that her husband could not locate his cellphone after returning to their apartment after a night out. She stated that the suspect began yelling at her, demanding his phone back, believing she had hidden the phone. She stated that she did not have the phone or know where it was.”

"the argument allegedly began over a missing cell phone."

Ugh, all this could have been avoided with Find my phone.

Why do people get married when they just end up cheating? Men and Women.

Ummm... well, not all or even most married people cheat on their spouses, so there's that. And for the one's that do, I doubt it is usually what they set out to do from the beginning - it can happen for lots of reason because people are incredibly complex and determining the reasons for someone's behaviour is very difficult. Why does anyone do anything they might fail at?

Think we can read between the lines he thought she was snooping his phone and what he was up too.

Assaulting someone over a missing cell phone.

Jesus...

If this doesn't show our society's unhealthy obsessions with phones, then I don't know what will. Some counties down here have resorted to removing cell phones from students in public school for the entire time they are on campus. That has been met with threats of lawsuits from parents, and in some cases, beatings of teachers who took away the phones by the students.

Maybe the phrase "digital detox" needs to be taken as seriously as we do alcohol or drug rehab? I don't fully know the answer, but a lot of bad #### seems to come from being attached non-stop to our devices.

Sent from an electronic device that I am hopelessly attached to.

It's the old illogical "I can change him/her" line of thinking. Or "it will be different with me".

People marry people who got together with them while they were still in their last relationship. And yet, for some reason they tell themselves that person won't up and do the same thing to them in the future when they become unsatisfied in the relationship.

If they'll do it once, they'll do it again. If they do it at all it means they don't have healthy beliefs around relationships to begin with.

From what I've heard about pro hockey circles, there are some pretty warped beliefs around monogamy and infidelity is pretty well commonplace. But I'm sure there are plenty of exceptions and decent family-oriented, faithful guys too.

Not that cheating even has to do with this incident, but more a drunken man's unhinged paranoia.

I'm not absolving him of any guilt here, as we are ultimately responsible for what we do. But I think it is time we as a society reckon with alcohol and the role it plays in assaults, murders, rapes, etc. Alcohol is a much harder drug than people think because it is normal in our culture. Imagine if it was a new drug, and you were out with a buddy who was doing it for the first time - you may witness him starting fights, puking, falling over, attempting dangerous stunts (hold my beer), etc... then the next day, he's depressed, has a splitting headache and feels shame for his behaviour... I think you'd steer clear of that drug.

We don't know it was cheating, there are many many times some have assumed things about players only to find out they were dealing with something or injured. Despite what might appear obvious, let's not assume and wait for more details. Maybe he said some stuff to another play about his wife we just don't know. The poster assuming she stole his phone isn't right either isn't that what Lucic did and it got out of hand?

Hammered when your kids are having a sleepover.

Poor kids.

Not to mention the parents of those friends. There's a certain amount of trust in allowing your kids to sleep over at another house.

Yikes.
