Fun game. Losing in a shootout against an Eastern team is the same as getting a tie, so who cares about the ending.

Fun game. This team has been fun to watch since they broke that nasty losing streak. Selling the UFA’s and getting more Wranglers here will make this season pretty entertaining even though it looks like they are staring down a sure playoff miss

Lol these takes

#4 has the best shootout % on the team
#10 has the most shootout goals on the team

Flames need to practice shoot outs more. They are a part of the game so they need to be better at them.

Not likely.
Not to mention Lindholm and Hanifin being in the lineup directly because of the Hamilton trade, both of them with points tonight and will bring back more than a single first round pick.

Such a fun team and likeable ever since we infused the young guys.

No thanks concentrate on winning in real hockey. Not the garbola for the casual fans in the regular season. Win in regulation playing 5 on 5 like you will in the playoffs and in OT in the playoffs. Practice that stuff the shootout not worth wasting time on.

Pospisil is going to be a player. Great wheels, physical, soft mitts. Really like his game.

Zary is such a smart player, reminds me a bit of Langkow. None of the physical skills standout but at the end of the night he is always one of the best players on the ice.

Hope they go get more picks and prospects, our amateur scouts know what they are doing.

OT record is terrible too.

Shootouts are literally just a toss up. Play 3on3 until it's over.

I'd be shocked if one lasts over 10-15 mins, especially with PPs.

Good game & fair result.
I thought both teams played well but the Isles were just slightly more hungry. Flames did well to keep fighting back & take a point.

Exciting game. The most important aspect of a Flames' game (IMO of course) is to be entertaining. They have been entertaining a lot lately. Hope it continues. Can't win every game, can't lose every game, i am just enjoying the entertainment that this team is bringing every night now.

Huberdeau is starting to really turn his game around. At the start of the year, even when he did put up points I felt he was the worst player on the ice - for either team. Now he seems to be putting his game back together. You can tell that he is still not quite there with his confidence, but the turnovers are slowly being eradicated, and the passes are starting to connect. That was a hell of a nice pass to Backlund. He had 3 or 4 really solid plays tonight, even one on defence. Hope he keeps it up. Confidence is everything, and if he can really recover his game, he will be such a good comeback story, and a guy that is hard to cheer against.

Pospisil and Zary - they keep flip-flopping on who is the best young guy. Lucky the Flames made room for both! Ruzicka, Brodie, Gaudreau, Lydman, Reichel, Kulak - what do these players all have in common? They were all taken in the 4th round. Ruzicka is an NHL'er, and I argue is growing his game. Kulak is a decent depth defencemen. The rest are unquestionably 1st round talents. It is still early, but it certainly seems like Pospisil is a 1st round talent too.

I think we can all point and laugh at prospect pool rankings now as they always had the Flames near the bottom of the list, yet the Flames are continually graduating impact players into the NHL. There are a few more coming up still that are probably NHL ready - Coronato deserves to be on this team (8 pts in 7 games), Klapka (10 pts in 13 games) and I argue Pettersen (10 pts in 13 games) does as well. I didn't really love Ben Jones in training camp and preseason, but 13 points in 13 games says he deserves a closer look. It is a small sample size, but even Kerins is 7 points in 7 games, so looks like he is having a rebound season which is nice to see. There are more players worth talking about as well. Let's just say that this organization has been a great drafting team, and that there are a nice handful of players that either belong in the NHL, or are pushing for long looks.

You know it's a guaranteed loss when the Flames docs shootout. They can't win them to save their own lives. Ever.

Seeing the impact of Zary and Pospisil, looking forward to Pelletier/Coronato.

We're seeing that the veterans aren't much better without Sutter, if at all. What we are seeing is a coach giving the young guys a chance and not deviating after a couple bad shifts.

Tie game. Nice to get the comeback and the point.

But we need to start picking up the extra points in OT and SO. Guys need to finish and not just be content with getting chances.
