QMJHL Champion - Lewiston MAINEiacs
Memorial Cup Host - Vancouver Giants
OHL Champion - Plymouth Whalers
WHL Champion - Medicine Hat Tigers

Who's it going to be? I think Lewiston might be able to hold their own, but I don't think they'll win this thing. Their mindset this season was win the Q, the Memorial Cup is a bonus

Thoughts from the rest of the field?

My understanding is that Lewiston is a good defensive team, but chances are high that is "good defense for the Q". I suspect that either of Medicine Hat or Vancouver could show them a thing or two about defense. Nobody in junior hockey does it like the Dub.

I am really torn on who to cheer for. I can't cheer for Lewiston or Plymouth on general principle: I want a Canadian team to win Canada's national championship. I don't like the Tigers due to divisional rivalry, and I am not a fan of the Giants due to general dislike of Vancouver. Ultimately, should one get there, I will probably end up cheering for the WHL team in the final
, and for Vancouver if it ends up as a Tigers-Giants rematch.

Lewiston plays "GREAT defense for the Q" and Bernier is one of the best in the business. Remember while no one does defense like the Dub, no one does goaltending like the Q.

That said I hope Lewiston gets rolled, I hate when fans of a team start celebrating before it's all said and done. They were discussing going to Vancouver to watch Lewiston in the Memrial Cup before round 3. They're a bunch of pom-pom waivers. I hope they get rolled.

I dunno about that. It seems that the WHL is taking over from the Quebec goalie factory as well. Its been all western kids in the WJHCs for the last few years.

Haven't gotten to cheer for my hometown since the '02 Mem Cup, but I've watched the Giants since day 1 so I'll pull for them.

First game is Friday at 7:00 MT. Giants vs. Whalers

Q everything you said about Maineiac fans is true. Wow they are annoying lol. everyone in my section (which was right below the Lewiston fans) was cheering for them too cause they all hate Dorsett for what he did to Franson and McArdle. Tigers looked great in the first, but then Lewiston woke up and Bernier absolutely shut the door he was great.

I didn't watch the game (was busy all day) I heard that Lewiston didn't play their best hockey and relied too much on Bernier. Which is scary to think about if they still beat the Hat. I'm a big Bernier fanI think he's a great goalie, one of the best the Q league had produced in a few years (possibly the best since Fleury.
