Hronek on an 11 game point streak as well. That ended up being a dynamite trade for the Canucks. Him and Hughes are unstoppable right now.

You could easily argue the Canucks would sweep all the major awards 16 games into the season. Hughes wins the Norris, Demko the Vezina, Tocchet the Jack Adams, and you take your pick for the Hart (Hughes, Petterson, Miller, or Demko). Whoever keeps the Oilers out of the trophy race, I'm all for it!

I thought the Tocchet hiring was never going to work. Absolutely the top story (so far) this year.

I'm definitely eating crow on the Tocchet hiring. I can't remember who he had in Tampa and who he had in Arizona, but it's possible he didn't have this over all talent level at his disposal.

Edit - The guy who forgot to follow Quinn Hughes up the ice in OT was Bo Horvat.

Ya I didnt like tocchet hire at all, but hes been great, being the JT miller whisperer is enough but hes made so many great changes

Power play was really good before he came here, but the new motion system he has has been incredible so far, risky to change but paying off

As an aside, Avs appear to be quite good again.

This Tomlinson fellow is not an upgrade on John Garrett. Not sure what Sportsnet was thinking.
I kept thinking I was at some sports bar and some slightly drunk guy was trying to talk to me, not incomprehensible just slightly difficult to understand

Nailed it. It sounded like monotone background noise. The sports bar analogy is on point.

Hopefully they can work on his levels and make it less awful.

I thought maybe it was me longing for Garrett, I quite enjoyed him, but as the game went on it was more than that.

Shorthouse, as usual, was excellent

Cheech and Shorty's chemistry and friendship was always going to be hard to beat.

I tuned into the Habs Bruins game on Saturday just to hear them together.

Tomlinson is way better than Hirsch though. Those games with Hirsch a couple years ago were absolutely awful.

Is Alex Auld still on the radio?

Vancouver sure loves their ex-goalie broadcasters.

The Flyers were happy to have Carter Hart back in net as he recovered from food poisoning. Hart made 31 saves in the Flyers victory. Philly's PK was perfect at 3/3.

The Avs PK was 4/4 and their offense was flying with Kiviranta and Makar each getting 3 points. All goals in this game, including the Ducks goals, were even strength except for one PPG by the Avs.

The opposite happened in the Isles-Canucks game where all but 2 goals were scored on the PP. It was Hughes and Miller time for the Canucks who both got 3 points.
