So what we wanted to learn by shuffling up the lines if if Huby could be better with different linemates. What we did learn is that his linemates could be much better without him.
How far off are we from having the most expensive healthy scratch in NHL history? Not fun.

I’d put him on waivers

He says Lindholm stepped on the net and fell. I’d like to see another angle on the play (his biggest beef was that the centre ice ref called it, not the closer official). I don’t think it matters too much as the Mangiapane call was made halfway thru that power play and basically negated it.

He skates around the ice in slow motion, pretends to almost try to ever so lightly check someone, does a circle, gets the puck, gives the puck away, then glides back to the bench.
It's incomprehensible how a player that scored over 100 points in this league can look like a beer leaguer.
Conroy needs to do whatever it takes to free him from the Flames and the Flames from him. It isn't working.

Agreed and a couple of comments;
Not sure how many folks on CP followed Flames TV last preseason, but no player out worked Zary during last season’s preseason… period. The kid was determined and put in the extra effort and time.
Pospisil has a great attitude and is over the moon to be with the organization still and definitely is thrilled with his opportunity to play in the NHL.
Young players DO make a difference especially when given a real chance to contribute.
Keep it up as we have 3 stars in the wings ready for their chance.

It's becoming clear that when I don't watch they win / have some kind of epic performance.

As for JH, it's really tough to see. He knows his job is to create, but lost all confidence he can do that. The benching didnt help.
He's also saddled himself with defensive responsibilities from Sutter and carried on with Huska, so now that's his first concern is defensive positioning if the offensive chance doesn't go in.
So, thinking too much, trying too hard, but no real way to get out of it if your mental state is interfering with the natural skill and talent and attitude that you had when you scored 115 points 700 days ago. Hockey at thst level is repetition and instinctively doing what you know to do...sit at ice level and see how quick decisions are made. Any split seconds of doubt or over thinking and getting away from instinct, you turn from a great player into a below average one, no matter who you once were.
He needs to go sit in Aaron Rodgers isolation cave for a week. Come back, change his number, change his hair, maybe speak only French, buy a red Corvette and just go with it.

Now we just need a team full of guys who work & feel this way about being here.
Suffering the indifference of the guys who have blue balled Conroy in negotiations since the spring is soul-draining.
They can't be shown the door soon enough.

Saw only bits and pieces as just arrived in Calgary and had to unload two vehicles...but from what I saw they looked excellent!! Marky worked his butt off.
And props to Kadri - as I said in the last PGT, I think he's enjoying playing with and the energy of the kids. Seems re-energized!!
WTF was Mang thinking with a man advantage and taking a dumb retaliation minor? If I'm the coach I bench him so he thinks a bit more next game. Really dumb move. And selfish, too.

Kudos to the Flames coaching staff for resisting the urge to try to strangle him on the bench after the umpteenth time he's done this.

What happens if, he’s told it just isn’t working and it’s time to think about alternatives. If there’s any sense of self worth, a list of acceptable trade destinations would be formulated.

That’s true too, I can’t imagine anyone lining up for him either. I was just commenting to the strength of a no movement clause. It’s not ironclad, if the player has any professional pride

On 960 Megan suggests it’s possible his best days are behind him and he’s too slow now. Wills quickly shots down that possibility.
