I was actually going to start a thread. "The Ongoing Air Canada Injuring and Humiliating Disabled Passengers as Well as Letting People Die In-flight Thread."

There's also these two recent stories floating around:

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/briti...-act-1.7017059

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/briti...hair-1.7015710

And let's not forget about their pilot praising the Palestine invasion.

How this airline stays in business is mind bottling. I am pretty sure Aeroflot and Air Koryo offer better service and safety.

In almost any other company heads roll over such blatant infractions. But hey, that union will protect you when you force a disabled man to drag himself off a plane like he just lost his legs on a booby trapped claymore in Vietnam.

Just an absolute joke and embarrassment of a corporation.

I flew on a Turkish Airlines flight from Izmir to Istanbul (1h10min) about 12 years ago. I can't remember the type of plane it was but it was a narrow body like a 737 or A321. On a flight that short, they still did a full meal service - it was bonkers! When the plane landed, they had probably only been able to recover the meal trays from the first few rows of the airplane. Everyone just piled up the trays on the window seat's table to exit their seats.

Of course, none of this nor the vast majority of things I've seen over the years here would ever be in the news, so it's always interesting to see AC get thrown under the bus and calls for the captain to be arrested when it's almost certain nobody did anything intentionally malicious.
What a sick youtube video full of compassionless aviation nerds commenting on it with excitement, despite knowing in the comments that she died. I guess they love planes so much that the excitement of a rare landing and take off of a craft that looks like every other airplane with a different livery trumps human tragedy.

sorry for you loss, bitch, but we love airplanes and your death gave us something awesome!!!!

I was on this flight! Unfortunately the person died while we were in the ground

Great catch

Great catch Alex!!!

The 787 looks tiny next to the 777

That's the same plane that took me from Istanbul to Washington I was in Row 36 i think

Ah good, you did catch it.

Alex must live within five minutes of the Calgary airport.

Great video alex! Glad you could catch this

Netflix should do a documentary on how ####ty air travel in Canada is. Would be gold. Too much material to bit it in only a handful of episodes.

Really? That’s a lot of countries. I doubt that. It’s pretty bad here. Like for a G7 country it’s a joke actually.

I actually hadn't seen any of those comments but yeah it lines up with exactly what I'd expect to see from them. I messaged him well before the video went up requesting it not go up because of what had happened, and he still said "I do hope they're okay" or whatever in the video, knowing full well what had happened. I will never forget what I saw that day.

I think we're beyond the scope of the thread at this point but take it from me... the Calgary aviation "community" is toxic in multiple facets that go far beyond what needs to be discussed here, and there are some people at the top that are truly bad people.

the only thing more annoying than the ####ty air service in Canada is all the bizarre defense and boot licking of big corporations that inevitably springs up. It's like watching someone flagellate.

For the record, I fully agree that Canadian airlines are garbage, it's just that the news is not remotely representative of anything that actually happens on airplanes or here at the airport.

Feel free to form your own opinion based on news articles written by people who have no idea what they're talking about, but these non-Canadian airlines you all think are so great are up to some bull#### too and I see it on a daily basis.

Check out Stryker inflatable boats. They're sick.

Yeah, Acey is right. It would shock people if they knew how much of a ####up all airlines were. Air India once took off from YYZ with a cracked windshield. Not a crack in the windshield, but a cracked windshield. I once witnessed a Korean Air tell me they weren't going to go because some ran into the engine; the engineer went downstairs with some tape, and came back up and said they were good to go.

Emirates at YYZ once had a catering truck come down on the wing, and they were telling people the flight was only delayed, not canceled, despite the fact that everyone could see the truck hanging off the wing out the lounge windows.

There's a new airline Arajet flying out of YYZ. Their flight crew are also the groomers, no lie. If they could siphon the fuel out of the tanks below the apron they would probably dispense with fuellers, too.

I once had a Fly Jamaica flight delayed from Guyana. When I asked why, they told me it was because the fuel truck broke down. When I asked why they didn't just get another truck, they looked at me and said "You've never been to Guyana, have you."

I'm way less likely to end up owning a boat because of my wife.
