Maybe he didn’t think the Flames would ever trade for him and he has other teams blocked.

There are only 10 teams he has to waive for....Flames may or may not be one of them.

He used to be considered a “stud”, pun intended, but looks like a fill-in AHL guy at this point unfortunately.

Fraser Minten would be an excellent pick up from TO.

Yeah I think the comment was implying a pure futures package isn’t appealing to the Flames, has to help right now too.

Cap dump happens in any scenario, with the flames or another team.

If Klingberg doesn't want to go to Calgary then they can send him and a pick to San Jose or Chicago or wherever isn't on his list. He's not in control.

No one knows his ten teams, Calgary could be on the list, probably see, but there is nothing stopping us from speculating. Even if Calgary is on his NTC, that doesn't mean he couldn't be traded here.

Klingbergs biggest priority will be earning a contract for next year

Prior to the game against Calgary they had Brodie, 40 year old Gio and Klingberg in their top 4.

That might be good in 2017

In 2023 that's scary.

Probably. Toronto can trade him to 21 teams and he doesn't have a say in the matter.

Yeah, he's not playing now and he would in Calgary. Maybe powerplay - build up a few points.

Umm yes it does. Do I have to explain to you what no trade clauses are? Here, let me help you out, the player gets to put 10 teams he can't be traded to, that means when the GM wants to trade him he can't trade him to one of those 1O teams. So yes, if Calgary is on his list (almost certainly are) he can't be traded here.

Klingberg will waive to go pretty much anywhere. It's going to be that, monch popcorn, or receive the Aki Berg treatment. Pitchforks are already out. Management is doing their best to insulate him, and themselves, for a couple weeks or days with talk of this mysterious injury. But nobody is any longer expecting that he will be a major contributor this season for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Possible, but unlikely imo. Regardless there is nothing to indicate the Leafs want to even move him but some fan speculation, the team has said to the media he was playing through some injury issues and they still believe he is going to be an important piece down the stretch.

Except the Toronto Maple Leafs. Too bad fans don't control hockey teams.
