I think he’s already taking a lot of heat with Klingberg. At least Klingberg would be out of sight, out of mind with Zaddy crushing the hits.
I agree that they will keep them all for the playoff push. I just hope we dump everyone, have oodles of cap space to sign a Nylander or even take on a Reilly Smith type and a draft pick for teams in cap crunches.

Using Luke Schenn last trade deadline as a comparable, the Athletic projects a 3rd rounder as the return for Zadorov. Though he’ll be harder to move than Schenn, who only had an 850k cap hit.

So the Flames trade everyone as part of the long awaited rebuild, then spend oodles of cap space on Nylander in an attempt to become a bubble team again.

Klingberg isn’t even a downgrade from Zadorov, just a bottom pairing guy with different flaws. Going from Klingberg to Zadorov doesn’t hurt the Flames at all especially with where we are.
If you can get a first for that swap that is an absolute steal. Zadorov is getting very overrated here.

Lol, they are not comparable, Zadorov can actually provide offence, he had 14 goals last year.

That won't work, he would clear waivers, go to the AHL and still count fully against the Leafs cap. He doesn't even want out of Toronto, he thinks he is going to turn it around.

You would think the msm “insiders” would know what is being offered. No harm in naming zaddy as he wants out, but you think they would have a sense of what teams are willing to give up. Even if it is generic terms. Can’t name prospects (or even teams) but would like to have some leaks. Ie. Western conference team offering a mid prospect and 2nd round pick. Eastern conf team offering blue chip prospect. Etc.
Radio silence from “insiders” instead. I’m sure we will hear after the deal is done though. Nice work.

Isn't this really posturing by Zadorov. I don't think it's actually a matter of wanting to leave Calgary. He's hedging his bets. It sounds like Calgary isn't rushing to get him a contract. At this time, purely from an points perspective the iron is hot for him to see if there is any other interest around the league. I think perhaps he's concerned about injury etc. derailing a contract year.

As long as the source isn’t a Toronto fan, I’m all ears. Again, doesn’t have to be too specific. If they are lowball offers, let us know. Doesn’t have to be specific info. Make it as generic as possible to protect sources.
