well from his perspective, Philly would make sense. Their blueline isn't very good, I believe ... might play a lot of minutes there and turn that into the contract he seeks. But as trade partners, Philly and Calgary would be an odd fit.

I don't think Zadarov cares about winning right now. He hasn't secured a big contract yet. This is his best chance

Really sad how quickly this team plummeted from possible contender a couple years ago with top tier players at prime ages, to this in basically a matter of weeks one summer.

Frost for Zadorov works but I would like an additional draft asset or prospect in return. Philly could play Z and either flip him or sign him so a deal right away makes sense to give Philly the opportunity to test drive Z. They likely know he is worth a 2nd+ at the deadline which is more than they would get for Frost

Yeah, Frost + 2nd would be fine but don't see it as fit for the Flyers

Holtz probably isn’t realistic, but Wheeler at the Athletic has Seamus Casey (RHD, 19) ranked as the Devil’s #4 prospect (and the Devils with the #2 prospect pool in the league). Smooth-skating powerplay quarterback at RD would fill a big hole in the Flames prospect pool.

If the Flames want to go the established 25 and under NHLer route, Michael Macleod might be a target. Only 26 pt last season, but has 3 goals in 13 games so far this season. He’s currently filling in for Hughes at #1C, but the when the Devils are healthy he centres the 3rd or 4th line. Good size, fast, kills penalties.

In either case, managing the cap will be a problem as the Devils only have $1 mil in space.

They were a pretender not a contender. They never had the horses to go far in the playoffs. Too many great regular season players that withered once playoff hockey started. Rebuild is the only solution.

I think Frost is already more than we would get back to get him and a 2nd (which again is probably more than he is worth from a team like Philly) would be great.
