They're going to turn that 3rd round paper clip into a telescope at this rate.
Feels like a perfect storm with all these "top" teams realizing they have major holes at D.

Nooo. I only do that for Monny. And only because it's such an awesome story.

Zadorov wants out quickly because he wants to be able to put together a body of work somewhere else over the final ~70 games of the season that proves he can be a top-four defenseman who should earn $5m+ on his next UFA deal.
I doubt he's suddenly soured on the city, the fans, or even the organization (although anything is possible, who knows). This is a matter of wanting to showcase himself in a better environment with a larger sample of games. It's not going to happen here.

Hopefully we get a bit of a weekend bidding war, and Z is gone by Monday.

Who cares if he wants a quick resolution, unless the right offer comes along right away he can wait. Conroy's job is to do what's best for the Flames, not Zadorov. Hopefully Conroy doesn't feel pressured to make a deal that isn't a good return. Be patient if you have to.

He should play in OT. He skates and carries the puck well.

In Toronto and on a back to back
this was certainly a calculated move...and dirty pool IMO
Flames are not obligated to trade him right now

I like him, and think he'd be good to have around for a rebuild, but he does strike me as a bit of a mercenary. So, if we can't sign him to something fair then I'm OK with trading him so long as the return is good.

You have to give the guy credit for having some ambition. We’re not going to be anywhere close to a playoff team this season.

It sounds like the Flames requested the trade as much as Zadorov did

The Agent is clearly trying to pressure Conroy but Connie can't let the pressure get to him. Hold out for the best deal. Tell the Agent to go pressure other GMs to pay up for the "Flames best defenseman".

Yeah Flames were coming to the table on a contract negotiation, so he wants a trade. Seems fair by both sides.
I like Zadorov but for the position they are in giving him $5M would be a mistake, especially when who knows if somebody would give you a 1st for him

I actually thought those tweets read like drunk posts - but I don't use social media so maybe that's just how people communicate on X?

I would be interested to hear their reasoning for why Hanifin is worth 7 x max term? while Zadorov is someone they're willing to lose.
That's some questionable evaluation based on how those two respective players have performed under contract year implications.
