Other players ice time got boosted on the PP and in OT. Z only plays on the PK, and the Flames only took two penalties tonight. Guy averages 18 minutes a night (Tanev avgs the same). Weird for articles just to nitpick ice time for tonights game only.

If that means they stop overpaying mid tier guys then great. Music to my ears that he wants out. He was not a contract I’d want the Flames to have at 5+ on term.

Can Gilbert be our Zadorov-lite?

Oh look at that. Zadorov and Weegar with the most minutes as a pairing. Soooo since Zadorov is "sheltered" then I guess Weegar is too, right?
Orrrrr... they're our second pair, and they play second-pairing minutes, which means the only time they (or any other D not on the 1st pair) play against the top guys is when the top pair needs a break. If that's the definition of "sheltered" we're using, then there are a whole lot of sheltered D in this league.

Pinder is right. It’s gonna be hella awkward for Z and his teammates until Conny can find a trade. Don’t get why his agent made it public

With Lebrun saying that Z’s camp is hoping for a quick resolution, I imagine that’s what we’ll get.
Hopefully we get a bit of a weekend bidding war, and Z is gone by Monday.

I love tough physical hockey, but even I can see you don't sign a guy like Zadorov to a big long term contract. He has great raw talent, but is also extremely erratic, though he has gotten better.
I'm not actually upset at this move by his agent at all. You can't get better marketing of the situation than while in the centre of the hockey world. Add in a goal and a highlight reel hit and the national media will be pumping up his value.
Every contending team should want a UFA Zadorov. A 1st is totally possible if Conroy can pull it off. I wouldn't mind that Robertson kid from the Leafs, that'd be a decent return.
As for the Flames becoming soft afterwards, they will, but that's only on the hitting department. Gilbert is a better fighter than Zadorov and he'd likely be in the lineup every night afterwards.

Source: Nikita Zadorov would welcome a trade to any organization that isn't completely out to lunch and full of players who are in "I don't give a f***, I'm getting paid" mode.

lol if he requested a trade I'm sure he would welcome most trades
I'm glad this is getting so much hype though...who would of though when the Flames were "dumb" to give up a third for him

Hopefully the first of many public trade requests.
The team has tried to force the team into a rebuild with their play on the ice now they need to ensure it by publicly putting pressure on the team.

Well, that escalated quickly.
Like the guy, but this is not a Cup winning team so unless you're a contender might as well look to the future. KInda glad this is forcing the situation tbh. Thanks for the memories Zad.

Should we look forward to the inevitable thread that gets bumped whenever Zadorov picks up a point with whatever he teams he ends up with?
