What the heck is doing something that it's impossible to keep him?
I remember they cut Juan Armour because he was smoking guys in practice and hurting them.

You can debate if Maier is a QB that could get the most out of Henry but losing him that early was a major blow for sure. Philpot never played which was a blow to the national receiver rotation. Losing Vaughters for the season was also crippling for the defensive line. At the end of they day they are a 6 win team that's clearly a level below the Lions and Bombers. Dickenson should be busy trying to upgrade the roster and especially the QB position as I don't think it's good enough to head to head with the four teams that are playing next week.

Maier is what he is. A career backup. Hopefully Logan bonner or Reynolds can develop into true starters in a year or two.

A tweet said we have over a million stashed on the 6 game injury list, and Dickenson alluded to it as well that we are in cap problems until next season because of the amount of talent lost to injuries.
I think a core of Michel, Henry and Philpot with Begelton will be a great group to build around, we just need a QB who can get them the ball. A lot of speed on that unit.
I forgot we lost Vaughters, but he was just starting to turn it on and got injured that was a huge loss to the line.
If we can get some betters tackles, a competent defensive coordinator and a upgrade at QB I think we are challenging for the west.

I would add that we need some upgrades on the OL as well, Jake didn't seem to have a lot of time back there to find open receivers. That said, they were pretty good opening holes for Carey, Logan, and Mills to run through. Speaking of Carey, he's 31 years old and is going to command a lot of money, I think the Stamps need to do the prudent thing and move on from him as money needs to be spent in other areas.
/I say this reluctantly because I do like Ka'Deem as a RB and a person

The interior seems fine, its the tackles who got killed.
Probably the worst o-line in the Huff era.
These guys have done it before, and I think they can do it again.

Carey seems like kind of a glue guy in the locker room so it would be a blow to move on from him but he was also the highest paid RB in the league and it's hard to give all that money to a guy that misses games as much as he does. Mills did a good job in his absence and a healthy Logan makes a big difference as well.

Will Mills come back though again to be pushed down the pecking line? He got scratched for the playoff game and the one meaningful game we actually won against bc to squeak into the playoff. Last years playoff against bc, coach D out coached himself as always and refused to run the ball then and it was commented on relentlessly by the football panel then. He would be our future, but I doubt he will want to return knowing that he is going to always be the odd one out in the three headed monster when Carey is healthy for his 6 games each year.

I would bring him back on a paycut, being available is just as important as production.
Backs usually start crumbling after 30 anyways and one who is injury prone usually is not a good mix.

I'm sure he would come back if promised the starting role. He just can't be expecting Carey money

Priority 1 IMO....ahead of a QB or anything else.
If you dont have a top tier QB you HAVE to be able to give your guy time to go through his progressions, particularly when the WR stable was as inexperienced as it was this year.
I dont see the Stamps coming up with a star QB out of thin air, so either Maier or another of similar caliber will need that help. Agreed, at times, the run blocking was good, but many other times it was non-existent.
Agree with you about Carey, great runner but also a violent one and that catches up to guys. Cannot sink a lot of money into RB's, they are just to plentiful to spend on big.
DD is in the fire now....see what he comes up with.

So basically the entire team is a free agent pretty much.
Is that because of the contract rules, I forgot if that only applied to the QB.

The Canadian Football League has suspended Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ strong-side linebacker Chris Edwards for three games after striking opponents and inciting a non-football altercation during the East Semi-Final.
The 30-year-old threw Montreal Alouettes’ Jake Harty to the ground and punched him in the head in the final minute of the game. The incident caused both benches to clear, followed by a long stoppage of play while the officials sorted things out. Edwards was ejected for his role in the altercation, as was Montreal Alouettes’ running back Jesrun Antwi. A total of five penalties were assessed with Montreal moving up 15 yards.

Player Summary:
Transfer from NYBU. 6th year senior. Slight and short stature. A smaller traditional QB that will only scramble under pressure. Displays sufficient instincts, makes good enough decisions. Shows ordinary physical toughness on tape. Subpar AA. Only capable of short scrambles and rarely eludes or sheds blitzers.

Wow what an uninspiring scouting report. I guess it is looking at him through an NFL lens.
