Liam takes the opening set 6-4. This would be a big win for the kid if he can pull it off.

Meanwhile in Cancun at the WTA Finals, Iga wins the final over Jessica Pegula 6-1 6-0. Pegula had a great week making the finals, it's a shame this match was a blowout.

Right on, right on! Match just ended.

Draxl pulls off the win in fine fashion taking the match. 6-4 6-1.

Great start for the good guys.

More Canadian content going on right now as Patricia Hy Boulais' son Justin Boulais is taking on Spaniard Inaki Montes de la Torre.
Meanwhile Gabriel Diallo will be facing a Czech player named Andrew Paulson.

Should he beat the young Czech, he will be facing Mr. Game Over (J. Sousa) who narrowly avoided a rather embarrassing defeat to 18 year old Brit Patrick Brady.

			Welp. We have an upset.
3rd seed Benoit Paire has just fallen to 20 year old Pole Maks Kasnkowski 6-3 6-7(3) 6-3.

Better luck next week in Drummondville Benoit.

Marina has been playing some excellent tennis of late, I don't know if she can pull off this upset, but I like the selection by captain Heidi. Let's go Canada!!https://twitter.com/user/status/1722263555586801848
Edit: Not sure what's going on in Spain, the first match was scheduled to start at 8 am Mountain time, looks like it's been pushed back an hour.

Gabriel did indeed advance (required three sets though) and will take on Sousa.

I was hoping to see Charlie in Vancouver as I'm sure the others who attended the Laver Cup in Vancouver were as well. I don't think I'll be making the trip to Berlin although I have visited Germany a couple of times (never been to Berlin) and it's a great place to visit.

We are underway in Spain (finally) and Marina Stakusic is up a break over Rebeka Masarova in the opening set.
Edit: Marina takes the opening set 6-3

Two holds of serve from 15-40 down and love-40 down here in set 2. Very impressive.

6-3 6-1 for Marina. I mean Masarova was not good today, but what a performance from the Canadian.

This is going to be a long drawn out battle as SST can run all day. The only good thing is that we're on indoor hard court and not clay.
