It seems assured now that the Oil will hire Sutter. Before this year, he would never have considered it. But getting the can after a player revolt changes things. I think the Jolly Rancher heads north. If he succeeds, he rebuilds his reputation and sticks it to the Flames. If it doesn't, he cashes the cheques and heads back to the farm after Holland et al get turfed at season's end.

How is he going to get permission to go there? Doubt that the Flames are stupid enough to pay him without ties that don't allow him to go to another team without permission.

If I'm not mistaken, Connor Brown is one game away from a $3.25M bonus, which will apply to next year.

Can someone 'accidentally' push him onto the ice?

So Skinner gets shelled for 6 yesterday and today they put Campbell in waivers?

What's it worth to Conroy?

Permission to speak to Sutter: A first rounder.

I was going to say the same thing. Their solution is a throw a goalie that has played a whopping 2 or 4 games into the mix. That will bode well.

If they offer to payout his entire deal for the Flames and Darryl says he wants to go I could see ownership agreeing to it. $8M is a lot of money

More likely they ride Skinner and keep Pickard as the benchwarmer.

Vancouver opened their NHL season with 3 of their first 12 games against the Oilers.

They lead the entire NHL in Goal Difference, with +30.

Skinner gets lit up for 6 goals last night, and the Oilers decided to send Campbell down the next day.

Hilarious timing.

You would think so, but in the broadcast they went on and on how the tandem in the AHL is leading the league (sure it only been 6 games for the condors). Sure made it sound like that was the solution. It is almost as if Holland was watching the broadcast and decided it was a good idea.

Depends entirely on how he contract was written in the first place.

The McDavid penalty was the personification of that team. Down by 2, plenty of time left, and he decides his personal revenge is more important than the team. Takes a dumb penalty, the rest of their top forwards also did their part to end up in the box at the same time, Canucks score, game over.

In Edmonton, there is a “Me” in “Team”. In fact, three of them. “Me, me, me!”

Must hit close to home as a guy who also only posts on here when his team is doing well. It's hilarious actually, fans have to come to another teams message board for validation but can't take the heat when their own team is bad.

Oiler fanboys who constantly post their nonsense on here should be called out for the hudini they have pulled.

True but given everything we know about Edwards, do you think he would permit a contract where the Flames continue to pay Sutter $4M per year while allowing him to coach another NHL team?
