Holloway would need extensive counselling to deal with Post Edmonton Trauma Disorder.

So do we want them to fire Woodchuck or no?

Desperate moves by them like a coach firing usually result in hilarity. But Woodchuck is also hilariously bad.

I'm torn.

It depends who they get.

Quenneville? That would be bad on so many levels. He doesn't deserve a job, but he's a great coach and he'd make them better.

Sutter? Also a great coach, but he might actually break them.

Babcock would actually be pretty funny.

No one else that I can think of would make a difference.

Why are people always afraid of the Oilers making changes and becoming successful? They’ve basically run a decade+ long clinic on ineptitude in the face of great fortune and yet still people think “oh well this could be the thing that puts them over the top!”

Messier has been making backhanded comments in the media regarding the Oilers. It's no secret he's coveted the job in the past. That would be hilarious if he was handed the reigns.

Fire Woodcroft, Gulutzan as a interim coach, hire Boudreau at the holiday break, do good enough to just miss the playoffs, making them think they're good again. Then they fire Boudreau by US Thanksgiving 2025. It'd be a beautiful thing.

Yup

They need like 6 or 7 things in order to get "over the top"

There's a myriad of problems there. Franchise center and winger is the only thing they have figured out/in place.

They're not resolving all the other #### in less than 2 seasons while cap constrained before the mcdrai window is up.

I think the fear is eventually Fan Boy Pharma dude will realise all those older Oilers players from the 80's are just shinning him on for a paycheck and actually know nothing about hockey management, that at some point hanging out with Lowe and McTavish will seem less cool than having a non laughingstock hockey team and he will fire them and bring in decent management

I don't call getting a nos 1 draft pick and then picking the most obviously good player in a decade 'figuring it out', you pick Mc Sweatpants at 4 or 5 you can brag, anyone can pick him first

Hey, you never know. Maybe a new coach while finally be able to get more offensive production out of their goaltenders.

Maybe they need to bring Smitty in as goalie coach to teach Skinner how to move the puck up to McDrai faster. More goalie assists is the cure.

Walmart Seth MacFarlane has no idea what he's doing. We should hope that he doesn't get fired. At least until they're in too big a hole to make playoffs.

Another 2-7-1 run over their next ten games will make that happen.
