Toronto never found the final piece that makes a cup winner. Morgan Reilly would be a nice #2 guy behind a franchise defender that they don't have. That's their problem, but if Brad is willing to overpay for a #5 guy like Zadorov that would be a great asset management opportunity for Conroy. If Ben Chiarot returned a 1st - we can hype this guy up. big hits!

Zadorov should be at the top of Conroy's list. Does everything and more. As soon as he's gone, everyone will want back. No other player on this roster brings what Z does.

You just know Treliving dreams every night of bringing in a big name defenseman given that Klingberg is playing over 20 minutes a night which is way too much for him. I'm not sure that group is good enough to win a cup.

Tanev back to Vancouver and make Treliving pay through the nose for Zad and/or Hanifin.
Blood clots are never good, so Andersen could be out a long time. Work out a deal to send the besties, Markstrom and Lindholm to Carolina.

Rich of Edmonton to come crying to us. It would cost you your 1st, Holloway (because I think we can fix him), and something else of worth to give up a defenseman that would for sure help them win some games. We can take on Foegele too since his deal expires.
They are a hot mess, it's crazy how mismanaged their cap has been with Holland.

I wonder if Edmonton could go back to the Nashville well for Saros. Jack Campbell ++++ for Saros.

Edmonton does not have the assets to make that deal.

To Vancouver: Tanev (50% retained - Vancouver extends him), Dube
To Calgary: Garland, 2024 1st round pick

Literally no shot. Canucks are looking to move Garland for cap flexibility, this move doesn't deliver that. The Canucks are not interested in moving any futures or sweeteners to get the Garland contract moved and I think a 1st attached to get Tanev would fall in that category. I could see Garland and a 2nd or 3rd for Tanev as a hockey deal. But even that's a stretch in my mind. Right now, I think the Canucks would offer Garland for Tanev, 1for1, and when that's a no-go, moving on.
I type all this as someone who is still quite high on Dube (despite some people here being otherwise)

Wat? You're expecting more than an bonafide middle six 50 point NHLer and a midround 1st for a mid 30s dman?
Hronek got barely more than that.

You must view Garland as a pure dump. I'd take a 1st for Dube and Tanev with no problem. Garland can be a roster filler as the Flames suck.

I think there is misconception as to why the Canucks are open and looking to moving Garland. It's not because he's "bad." He just doesn't fit what the Canucks need from the a player in his role in the line-up money wise. 5 Million a year is too much for a guy in a bottom six role who has ended up on the outside of the top six role he was paid for. It was a chemistry thing, not a performance thing. He's in the same place as Nils Hoglander, but paid more.
