Are you saying the moderates are going to have to have their own Moe-ment?

The entire idea of banning solar farms just boggles my mind.

In any case, the UCP and TBA need to be squashed and stamped out of Alberta history, and soon. Smith, Parker and the rest of that insecure/uneducated party will do colossal damage to this province and its reputation if they are allowed to continue with their dangerous agenda.
The ANDP could do this if they changed the name. They've moved far enough right that there isn't room for another centrist option, and as long as the have the NDP name they'll never be viewed as a centre-right party, which is where the votes are.

That's how you know these people aren't functioning in reality.

Sure, I'll grant you that.

But then who on the federal level is moderately right on the political spectrum? I've already mentioned liberal corruption and CPC convoy acceptance and I assume you are with these characterisations.

You could try that new fangled PC party:

CTV: From Centre Ice Conservatives to Canadian Future, a new federal party takes shape

Wrong thread for this, but I'd vote for PP federally over JS. But I do think it's unfortunate that Charest lost, as I think he'd have been a great option.

Liberals: We should design our cities such that most services/amenities are located within a 15-minute walking distance of people's homes, making trips faster, reducing traffic, saving people money on gasoline, and giving residents more free time to enjoy their lives.

Conservatives: WON'T SOMEONE SAVE US FROM THIS COMMUNIST HELL!

Thanks for your response. Time will tell if PP can reign in the far right wing faction of his party.

Apropos of nothing, but IMO the Federal and provincial political threads should probably be merged.

Thing is, we hard this line from some people before the provincial election. Like sure, Smith was campaigning further right, but she'd govern more centrally. Well, here we are ~6 months later and she's shown no sign of that, and their party is further right than where they were.

This always seems like the dumbest conclusion to draw before an election. When someone is TELNETTing you who they are and what they will do, why would you expect them to act differently? Hell, people said that about Trump.

It's like people who marry a total jerk but think they can change them.

Reign in? PP is part of the far-right wing faction of his party!

This is a pretty good article on how stupid all this is.

https://globalnews.ca/news/10045504/...ergy-industry/

Debunks the main point they have that good prime agricultural land is being wasted on solar.

It would appear that there is an appetite for what Smith and UCP are looking to do in this Province.

More likely the circus is in town, and everyone wants to get a good look at the monkeys. Or the membership is showing up in numbers, to voice their displeasure?

I'm surprised the school voucher proposal didn't pass, especially as the only one that didn't. I don't like the idea, but I wonder what the convention crowd didn't like about it.
