The greed within the Oilers' organization is limitless and disgusting. As someone astutely commented above, the Oilers are keen on ensuring that they claim the #1 pick. They also don't like the fact that a Flame holds an individual record either, for as of now, McDavid is on pace for the NHL's biggest points drop between seasons in history!!

Greed and entitlement are the pillars upon which the Oilers were built.

Those pillars have cast a long shadow of insecurity over the years as things have less and less panned out how they assured themselves they would.

And now they've reached a point where they feel jilted because they aren't sitting on multiple cups just for owning two of the top forwards in the game.

It just doesn't compute for them.

The incredible part is their audicity to suggest that they've been hard done by or cheated out of some destined outcome, when they've gotten more blessings in a 6 year span than most teams will get in their entire existence.

They can suck and fail for eternity and it will never not be earned/deserved.

I am actually amazed at how many Oil fans on HFO are calling for the firing of Woody and the hiring of Sutter.

I'm thinking stupidity is clearly one of the pillars as well, and hubris has to be in with a shout, I mean this is the hockey equivalent of the Dunning Kruger effect in a whole ownership and fanbase, they are just to stupid to realise how crap the team is

I have heard that the oilers have made recent inquiries to the NHL, on the status of Joel Quenneville, with the intention of offering him the HC position should he be cleared and is interested.

Not surprising. It would be funny if that happens and he gets pulled back into the Hawks scandal.

Why?

As I said in another thread...Sutter got our sad-sack collection of losers to within 2 points of the playoffs with the worst goaltending in the NHL.

Thats essentially a miracle.

Sutter wasnt the problem...he was the answer. The players just didnt like it.

I am rapidly becoming less and less inclined to GAF what hockey players do or dont like. Its getting to the point where hockey players need to quit whining, STFU and just play.

I really really hope that doesn't happen. I think Q would be a fantastic fif there. Stick with Woody or fire Woody and give Ol' Glue Gun the reins.

Would be good timing with the latest Blackhawks revelations.

Might as well make Babcock associate coach while they’re at it. Please submit your phones for evaluation, Connor and Leon.

Quenneville, with Babcock and Constantine as assistants.

Quenville getting hired makes sense the Oilers have no shame on any character type situations. Kassian, Kane, Virtanen. Sure they would bring in Quenville.

They really think an old and hardened Darryl would mesh well with that locker room?

The entitlement of those players is far worse than what Sutter dealt with here.

And with Oiler reporters? He would be dropping a huber-poo type comment every week.

Perfect way to nail the coffin shut on any hopes of mcdrai wanting to stay, I suppose.

He owns Acres of remote land. If he wanted it to happen they'd never find the bodies.

It amazes me that Francis is still on the right side of the grass.

I’ve always kinda thought Sutter would be the one guy that would make McDavid a more complete player. Sutter with the Oil would be a problem, I think.
