These people actually think a planning philosophy that basically boils down to having a grocery store nearby = you can't go anywhere else. I still can't believe this is not only an actual conspiracy theory that real people believe, but also one peddled by the party currently forming Government.
I long to live in an area where everything I need is at least a 16 minute drive away. We should bulldoze all the houses around shopping centres/grocery stores/gas stations/etc to ensure we avoid 15 minute cities.
My favourite thing about living in Airdrie (Years ago before it got too big, not the ####show it is now) was that I could go to any store in town, get anything I needed, and it never be more than 5 minutes away
How can anyone think something like that is a bad thing? Absolute morons
Jesus Christ.. I am so happy I'm no longer an Albertan. Banning 15 minute cities? Conservatives have no idea how to govern. Good luck y'all.
Edit: not to mention the asinine idea of getting people to convert to oil heating. Do you know how much of a pain in the ass that is? Especially when selling your house. You have to get a fire department inspection to ensure there's no leaks and if there are someone has to pay for it before the sale goes through. We passed on a number of houses because they were oil heated with buried tanks that would need to be dug up. Likely costing around $15k.

Can you get kicked out of the UCP by voting against ever policy that gets put forth at the AGM? May e start a grassroots organization called, “Take Back Alberta from Take Back Alberta”. I know it has a bit of a FOB / FOBK lameness to it, but I am sure a catchier lobbyist name can be come up with.
I would love to see David Parker's greasy pumpkin explode if a progressive group called Take Back Alberta announced their formation and intention to rescue Alberta conservatism from alt right MAGA wokeness.

That’s actually not a bad idea.

We shall rise up as The People's Front of Alberta to fight back against the UCP. The only group we hate more than the UCP is the "Alberta People's Front"!
