McCann was trying to cover the puck because Grubauer was way out of net. They weren't doing anything about it so I think that's what frustrated Mangiapane.

Mangiapane’s was one and done, and he’s not the size of Benn. Benn did it several times after Stone was down, with obvious purpose.

Yeah, I'm not excusing Benn as I think he's a dirty player but my feeling is they're similar enough that Mangiapane will get 4+. And I'm sure Mangiapane can crosscheck just as hard as Benn regardless of size difference.

I do agree Benn did it with and on purpose and Mangi is just not a smart player who lost his cool.

Not that it matters at all but Grubauer was easily back in position in time by the time Mangiapane would have had the puck even if McCann didn't cover it.

Even if Grubauer was sitting on the bench zero excuse for that play from Mangiapane.

Maybe. But doesn’t take away from the fact that he’s overpaid, undersized and does nothing for the team if he’s not scoring. Treliving was so desperate to have someone commit to the team after Johnny bailed and chucky demanded out. Hard to see him hitting 35 again and that’s what he was paid for. Not his fault for signing it but move on from him, not a team first guy.

4 games is likely (and probably equals less than 2 games in the POs).

I think Mangiapane may have been more frustrated in blowing a chance at the empty net. It was a great chance on what had been a good shift for that line.
