If the full screen ads are to stay, they need to resize based on the amount that you’re currently zoomed in. For example I zoom in to select a link, then i get a full screen ad, so i have to zoom out to click the X to make it go away, then zoom back in again to read what I want to read. Super annoying.
Also the X to close the ads should be way bigger. I’m really hoping this site and Wikipedia can avoid the en####tification that is taking over the internet.

My interest in this forum had already waned awhile ago, in large part because of the Flames futility, and I had better things to do, then mods didn't have issue with homophobic posts but banned people for insulting an "insider"? It's gotten weird here. But getting invasive far-right-crazy ads that make the forum literally unreadable is a nice final nail in the coffin for me.
Thanks for the good times though.

The ads are the worst thing that has ever happened to this website. A huge thumbs down for me. Let us subscribe and pay out of our own pockets to keep the site going if money is an issue. Young people have zero interest in signing up for forums, and this will just drive people away.

They’re bigger than full screen on mobile for me. Like 200% of full screen. I have to scroll to the right, then up, then zoom to find and tap the X button that’s 5px wide.
First time it happened I closed the tab because I thought I was in the wrong place. These have to be terrible for engagement.
The solution for ads on a forum is way simpler, allows for more ads, and doesn’t intrude as much — set it up so they appear in between posts, like in a social media feed. Easy to scroll past, but you can put more ads into a larger thread.

These ads are about the worst idea that has happened on this site. It’s up there with Michael Ha asking us to vote for him, pimking wishing us merry Christmas, and jhunt asking about vaginal expansion.
