The long goodbye to "The Price Is Right" host Bob Barker begins in earnest next week, as CBS honours the legendary host five decades on television.

Bob Barker is the Joe Namath of game show hosts! One of the greatest ever and guys today just can't get away with the stuff he could.

83?

More like 883. He is the undead. Tempting people with material goods in exchange for their souls for centuries.

see Dane Cook's take on Bob Barker. I'd try and find it on Youtube, but my employer has it blocked.

No doubt, next to Hugh Heffner I don't know who else could pull that off. One of the greatest guys guys ever! If I ever uncover that magic lamp with three wishes and my first wish of being able to go back 50 years in time and live Hugh Heffners life is denied, Bob Barker might be my second choice.

That, and does this finally mean the show gets a make over from the 60's/70's decor?

Ya is there a replacement? Or do they end the show? Personally Id say they show should end with his retirement.

There was talk last week that Rosie O'Donnell was a contender. No joke. I guess Barker didn't like that idea.

From what I've heard there is a "Price is Right" stage show in vegas.
The host of that show will come on as the host of the TV show.

Then again I have no idea if this is accurate.

According to USA Today:
Quote:
In September, the show will relaunch with a new host. Contenders include George Hamilton, 67; Entertainment Tonight host Mark Steines, 42; Dancing With the Stars champ John O'Hurley, 52; and former Dancing contestant Mario Lopez, 33.

According to USA Today*
Quote:
In October, the show will be canceled. A new show will fill it's time slot.

*Not actually from USA Today
