But look...you've got safety railings! And thats swell...now, this isnt that hard, what you need to do is head over to RONA or The Home Depot and get some pool noodles, a knife and some duct tape. Cut those noodles up and line your railings with them.
This is just so you dont break your bones every time you fly into them.
This isnt rocket science or complex engineering.

Also, stop storing random loose beams that don't even match the outline of your ceiling up there. Anytime there is a camera shake, one is liable to fall down and crush someone. Also, fire the guy who keeps filling the walls with rocks & dirt that bursts out everytime the ship gets rocked a little bit. Red Alert should also be like a seat belt sign that lights up like on an old earth aeroplane. Put on your seatbelts instead of standing around waiting to be flung around like a ragdoll.

You've just angered the Federation's 'Rock, Dirt and Beam' Union!
If they cant store them in shabbily constructed drop-ceilings in Starships where do you want them to put them?
You dont even want to get started with the 'Steam Pipe' Unions!
Why is there a giant pipe that ejects steam onto the bridge every time they get shot at? Nobody knows!

You have to be absolutely kidding me with this...
Sorry...that was a great episode. Classic Trek.

haha I worked from home yesterday and also rewatched some trek. Currently I am midway through a DS9 Rewatch. Man, it hits so hard.
Rewatched the gabriel bell episode only a month or so ago, and it struck me that we are pretty damn close to that reality, and at about the exact same time frame.
looking forward to watching the season finale of LD- tomorrow!

Also...the banter on the bridge between Boimler and Rutherford? *Chef's Kiss*
That was fantastic.

Wait they had seatbelts on starfleet bridges all this time and no one ever uses them? What the hell!?
Episode was great. Tendi next season will be nuts!
Tendiford has to be happening. He is so depressed when no one was looking with the warp manifolds and she only hugged him and teared up on beam out.

Ok, that episode was utterly brilliant, just from the visual point of view, where they replicated the TWOK nebula fight. The last scene with Tendi putting that evil look on her face after they go to warp drive. The bridge chatter "I don't see it".
The little attention to details with the Ferengi twist to bomb disarming was throughout this episode.
Is Tendi the big bad next year?
I thought that they were going to promote Marner off the ship, it just felt like that was coming.
This season was a bit of a slip for me, but this last episode was awesome.

I hope they just do an off screen resolution and a dropped comment like "Sis and I didn't get along" for Tendi, and she's back on the crew as if it never happened, like classic TV shows tended to do.

I dont know, I kind of get the feeling they're going to make an arc of it which is partly why they brought in T'ana to make up the quartet.

The command staff get revived and have stuff happen to them off screen, like Shax coming back from the dead, but that's never happened with the Lower Deck crew though.

So a fun fact, 2024 is when it was supposed to happen. We are more than close. It's absolutely ####ing eerie. But on a positive note, I always consider that two parter to be when DS9 kicks into high gear. Season 3 is just so good.

Anyone that doesn't think it's happening (Ellie Littlechild at Trek Culture, I'm looking at you) is high. They've been doing the slow burn since episode 2.

That was always what I assumed from the first season. Mariner is the "grizzled old veteran Lower-Decker".

She served on DS9 under Worf 2372-2375, meaning her first posting graduating from the Academy was fighting on the front lines of the Dominion War. That might pile on some PTSD while not having processed her friend's death.

Just from what's on screen it's pretty clear how they feel, just they are both too awkward to really know how to express it. i.e. true nerds.
I just hope writers don't pull one of those "we're subverting expectations" moves, which they haven't so far

I really wish we'd get more media revolving around the Dominion War. I know it played a central part in DS9, but most of the time we only got to see the war from a very limited and removed perspective. It's the largest war in Federation history, there's so much more they could dive into for it

I was just thinking about that as well! The Dominion War was a huuuuuuge part of Star Trek. It played into Picard S3. I would love more media.

I've thought about this...but...can you imagine a Dominion War series with the writing and budget that Star Trek has now as compared to then?
I mean, they're wrapping up Discovery...so take all of those writers and creative personnel and put them in a room and then weld that room shut from the outside and set it on fire.
But take that budget and give it to competent writers and make a Dominion War series.
