Bringing in new guys means more money spent and the risk that those guys tell you something you don't want to hear.
When the sole goal is to maximize profits and shoot for 8th and not hockey you keep the guys you know will work with you to get that.
How many people from outside the organization were going to say this team is headed in the right direction and didn't need major changes?
