Given it was from a blocked shot, I think he'll be fine and back this year. That sucks. He was apparently playing well too for his role.

He's on a 1yr $1mil deal and is outscoring Kadri. Hardly a back breaker.

It is a slight overpayment. Probably the minimum for a guy who brings minimum value would be what I would pay him. Just a shame the Flames never found a LTIR injury.

I still think your point didn't make any sense. They literally just signed him this summer and he's producing and playing well. Why on earth would they have signed someone to near league minimum and then immediatly been hoping they'd be able to LTIR him?
Also, league minimum is $750k. So if they did LTIR him they have to replace his position on the roster with let's say a $750k player and then they save $250k. I'm literally not seeing what you're seeing or suggesting at all.

Yeah, sorry, I'm not following with some of this.
He's a $1M player. There is little to no benefit to futz around with LTIR...you're going to get nothing out of it.
He blocked a shot. He's hurt. He's on LTIR. There is no conspiracy or asshattery here.
Its Looch. He's not playing games, if he's hurt he's hurt.

Yeah, it was a bizarre assertion from the get go. I figured the poster was just mistaken and thought Lucic was still on that long $7milAAV contract, but he then said he does know it's a 1 year, 1Mil deal.
