Pick him up on waivers and give him a fair shot once and for all?

Why do you care about a fringe NHL player so much? We get it you don’t like former Flame players that leave. You also like to prove people wrong. It’s the same rinse and repeat cycle from you. Find a hobby.

Hes getting the fairest shot he’s ever had and it’s becoming clear he’s just not an NHLer. Move on.

It would probably be easier if people didn’t take even his benign comments as an opportunity to take a shot at him. Put him on ignore or just grow up and let it go.

Perfect guy for a rebuild. This team needs more loss fodder.

For the record and to clarify I don't like former Flames that bailed on the team that drafted and developed them. Why would I?

Phillips is nothing like that

I will pushback on insane nonsense like he is the next St.Louis but I wouldn't be upset if they picked him up on waivers and gave him a few games. Heck worst case he is back on the Wranglers.

Low minutes suggests the coach doesn’t trust him defensively.

Or he just cant cut it in the NHL. It was ALWAYS the concern with his size. If he cant fight through bigger and faster guys, he wont be able to utilize his skillset.

He is hardly alone in that either. Its as old a quandry as the game itself.

Little known fact, but Gretzky intended to continue playing until there was no longer a spot for him in the league. But in 1999 he met a 2 year old Connor McDavid, and was so wowed by his greatness, that he came to the realization it would be disrespectful to not step away from the game so he didn't take the spotlight off of Connor, and allowed the world to move on from focusing on Gretzky in the NHL to Connor in Timbits.

Phillips was always a long shot to make the NHL and even longer shot at being an every-day, impact player. Which is why I was so happy he got his shot. I'm still rooting for him.

He finishes the year in Hershey and becomes a free agent again. Then we have another thread.

There's always the Monahan thread, the Tkachuk thread, and the Bennett thread. Hockey fans just love what ifs.

Was there ever a Joe Colborne thread or was he just inserted into all these other threads for comparison's sake?

Or I could mean the coach was just trying to get the team to focus on a defensive game. The Caps haven't been playing very well overall.
