See, this is what people have said about Purdy. He has never really had to play from behind. This is what happens.

They were still moving the ball downfield relatively easy but he tried to play hero ball. Cross body throws are a bad idea even if you are Patrick Mahomes who gets away with it some of the time but when Purdy's doing it you know there's going to be trouble. For the 49ers to succeed he needs to play within the confines of the Shanahan offense.

I think more often than not, QBs will fail on that last drive getting their teams down the field when it's more than a field goal, less than 40 seconds and no time outs. You can't take a sack, you burned a down to spike the ball so they toss balls up that they normally don't hoping their guy can make a play. It's why Brady, Montana and Elway are held in such high regard because of how they could pull that off. Mahomes ability to get a team back from two scores down might be next level.

It does show that San Francisco is a team that is so much better playing with a lead than they are trying to come back. If CMC doesn't fumble on the first drive, it's likely a very different game. At this point I don't think any NFC QB would be able to win a game where his team is down 10 points midway through the 3rd quarter. Maybe Hurts could...but I think he benefits a lot from having a great roster around him who keeps the game on script every week.

I swear the Bucs are not even trying to win.

EDIT: And they've succeeded.

Yeah this is the most painful "chase" drive I've seen in a while. Somehow this drive lives on.

Lol and yet they are one stop from having a shot to win. This would a brutal loss for the Bills.

Should have been if Godwin was paying attention. Bills can’t ever make things easy on themselves.

Well that said it on the broadcast, but yeah how often does the ball land in the end zone and no one touched it? Weird end to a weird game, Bills totally dominated and yet barely survived.

I would agree that it probably should have been like a 34-10 win for the Bill's, but they made a few mistakes that let the game be a lot closer than it should have. When that Hail Mary hit in the end zone without bein touched that did seem a bit unusual. The Bill's never really looked in danger of losing that game, but there was a chance at the end that they could.

The only Oilers team I'll ever cheer for, these jerseys are so crisp

I do wish they could have worked that color scheme into a Titans jersey, as opposed to the Oilers. But when you have uniform kits like the Houston Oilers, Hartford Whalers, or Quebec Nordiques that were really good ones, a more casual observer does like to see them on occasion. Although I'd prefer to see the Texans paying homage to those old Oilers uniforms given the connection.
