Whoever put this collection of “talent” together should be the GM of the Leafs so he can do the same thing there.

I hear you, I thought they were a 9th to 10th place team. I was wrong. Only silver lining is that they should be far enough out of the playoffs by the deadline that the decisions are made for them. Currently in 13th place in the conference and tied for 29th in the league with a real chance to be down to 15th in the conference and 31st in the league after the next two games.

The team was doomed when Bean forced the hand at that presser and said WE DONT REBUILD HERE.
This team needed to rebuild, they needed to take the L of their 2 top players leaving and start over, but instead here we are. Conroy saddled with terrible contracts, hiring Huska who was part of the problem when Sutter was here instead of Mitch Love.
We knew they weren't going to go out and pay for a big coach as they were still paying Sutter.
Huska's new system appears to be actually worse, the man to man coverage looks terrible and the amount of sheer breakaway/2 on 1's is astronomical. I'd wager we've given up the most in the league thus far. Coupled with our "new look" 1-30 power play, I'd say we're off to a great start.
No offence, no creativity still, no confidence.
No star players, no identity, nobody sticking up for anyone outside of Zadorov.
Captain has been invisible, the C should be on Z's chest.
I cant fathom paying to watch this product, I'd rather walk into any community rink and watch kids play at this point, at least they care.
The only UFA we should be signing is Zadorov, everyone else should be gone.

You look how this team played last year and if they had a much better Markstrom and better results from Huberdeau and Mangiapane they are absolutely a 100+ point team. They were in every game last year just with the 1 goal losses. Cut their OT losses in half they have 100pts. It gave me hope that this was still going to be a good team this year with some bounce backs and positive vibes.
Sutter’s legacy is somewhat being restored watching this garbage. It sure looks like Huberdeau and Kadri are completely washed. There are far too many old and overpaid players on this roster.

Only guy on the roster I’d get a jersey of. And I’d be stoked to do it. He has shot up to the top of my list whenever a jersey is in the budget.

Glad I skipped this one, other than a few seconds to see how bad it was. Losing interest in the Flames this season, if not lost already. Full on what I expected going into the season, disappointed I was right. Buckle up, because this is pretty much what the team is going to be the next half decade +.

Watching Flames hockey is painful these days. Why we after a long work day spend money and time to be tortured by this brand of hockey entertainment. On one hand I love to have a hockey team in town but how can one be motivated by seeing the listless efforts in every game?

Watching the Blues... I was thinking oh that's a nice pass, then there was another nice pass followed yet another nice pass. They moved up the ice easily. The Flames looked like pinball machine highlighted by Hanafin's slapshot pass to Coleman.

I think they need to be like, Hey Darryl, I know we asked you to leave, but we are still paying you, maybe we can run you and Huska in a good cop/bad cop situation behind the bench at the same time....best of both worlds

I love Michael Backlund and happy he's captain but it's so obvious he's a transitional captain until this team gets better and has a star.
Is our pick protected in the Florida-Montreal trades? Because we need a top player desperately and need to start collecting picks. Lindholm Hanifin and Tanev all have to be moved.

This might be a dumb question - but - When Huberdeau scored 115 pts was he a superstar on the ice? What I mean by that is, did other teams fear him? Or did he collect a bunch of secondary assists, and wasn't actually as impactful as the number suggests? It sounds ridiculous even as I type it - he had to be an elite superstar, 115pts is a hell of a season... but I have literally seen no signs of a great player... barely any glimpses of elite vision, athleticism, etc. It is hard to imagine him putting up 115pts...

Did other teams "fear" Gaudreau? No, but both were elite play making wingers. Hubereau was every bit a superstar in those years in Florida. He isn't that here, which makes it all the more frustrating

It’s really strange. It’s not just his 115 point season either. In his last 4 seasons in Florida he put up 346 points in 286 games. That’s a 1.2 PPG pace averaging 99 points per season.
I don’t know what the issue is, but it’s hard to believe a Flames jersey instantly turned him into a 40-50 point player.

Yes they did.
We had the best line in the league that season and were lighting teams up for 7-9 goals many nights.
They were feared for sure.
